The standard thermostat in the FG turbo has a 54mm flange a total height of 39mm and a flange to base height of 22mm, it is a 91C/195F temperature

For those wishing alternatives just to make it easier I have Dayco part numbers that can be cross referenced for other temperature configurations.

Std DT14B (91C/195F)

step 1 DT14G (89C/192F)

Step 2 DT14A (82C/180F)

Step 3 DT14E (77C/170F)

Step 4 DT14C (71C/160F)

All these thermostats are identical except for temp ratings. These are listings and I take no responsibility for any consequences of running anything other than std equipment and you should consult a professional prior to fitment.

Just for an idea of differences, the temp guage on the FG ran just nudging half way on the std thermostat and I went for the coldest one (71C) and it now runs just a hair over one quarter on the guage. A run out west today had it returning almost 1km/100L better than the last trip (same route) but will need to repeat the run a couple of times may be just coincidence. Only had the car 1 week and done 1500km already hope the novelty wears off before the car wears out.

Probably just to suit their tune. I think most cars run at around 90°. I'm sure everything they do has got a reason but most of them aren't for guys like us that modify them.

I use an 87 Deg one. Cant remember brand etc. Temp floats from 86-88 and up to 92 on highly congested areas or under a lot of spirited driving. Fans kick in at 90 on the current tune.
