I had a mate, I was in the car at the time and he lost his car for a month for "racing" an excel (600hp gtr racing an excel? yer nar) but with no car he lost his job and is only now getting his career back to gether 2) why isnt it the same for drink drivers? Turbo6FG Silver Donating Members 497 Member For: 14y 8m 13d Gender: Male Posted 20/01/11 05:10 AM Share Posted 20/01/11 05:10 AM What happens if you sell car or transfer ownership to someone else?In WA the hoon offence goes against your name not the car. & whatever car you're driving can be crushed or confiscated, whether it's yours or not. Like the case over here recently when a mechanic took his customers lambo for a drive & it was confiscated. The hoon law got pretty bad press over it but it never changed anything. 2) why isnt it the same for drink drivers?Because the politicians who make the laws don't really give a toss about saving lives. It all comes down to revenue & if the roads were too safe with less accidents then they wouldn't be able to fine so many people. If you have an accident and kill someone there's a loophole in the law where you can be only charged with 'driving without due care & attention' or something like that & get an $800 fine. Maybe they want to keep people like that driving?I like the idea of them putting fixed speed/red light cameras at intersections as that's where a lot of stupid accidents happen. It also means you are an innattentive tool if you get caught all the time by them because you should know they are there. But this business of hiding them behind trees on straight highways really sh*ts me.

Normally it's all clear there, no scrub so you'd spot him from miles away. The storms had felled a massive branch and the bloke had parked up behind that as it hid his car nicely! Cheeky bugger. They decide on placement ahead of time though so I'd say he'd have been in the area anyway.

You are in control of a lethal weapon. Grow up! If you cannot drive responsibly, then you have no business behind the wheel. Street racing, burnouts, doughnuts, etc., is for the drag strip or track, not the roads that my family use.Anyone stupid enough to get caught hooning three times, PLEASE RAISE YOUR HAND! We're not talking about too fast too furious movies here. What about getting caught for hoon law because you are caught for speeding while overtaking a truck on a highway? No car for a month. What about having someone else lose your car for a month because they were speeding? No skin off their nose, but the owner is without a vehicle while the offender only gets a fine. What about drunk drivers? They might spend the night in the lockup then they will most probably drive again the next day while the courts take a few months to decide if they should lose their licence. Or else they get drunk a few days later & drive again anyway. The whole system is stupid & lopsided. If they were serious about the road toll they would educate drivers instead of everyone watching their speedo in case the do 5 over. The way the law is going they'll soon be impounding vehicles for that too.I also find it hard to believe that anyone who owns/drives a turbocharged vehicle has never exceeded the speed limit, like when they were on a quiet road & they thought nobody was looking. Street racing, burnouts, doughnuts, etc., is for the drag strip or track, not the roads that my family use.Anyone stupid enough to get caught hooning three times, PLEASE RAISE YOUR HAND!See the thing is it's much more than that, plant your foot when leaving a red light and if there's any tyre squeal or you have been deemed to have accelerated too fast then you too can be a hoon. From one of the previous times this was dug up:Was just going through all the technicalities of this topic for a mate up here this week, under the amendments to the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000 (referred to as the hoon laws), the following are classified as hooning...Burnouts: this refers to wilfully driving a vehicle in a way that causes the tyres or asubstance poured onto the road surface, or both, to smoke when the drive wheels lose tractionwith the road surface. For example: oil may be poured on the road surface and a vehicledriven on the oily surface in a way that causes the tyres to spin and the tyres or oil to smoke(Situational Online Support SOS database: Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000(Qld) ‘Hoon Legislation’ scenario based tutorial’. [internal QPS Intranet site]http://www.qldpol/qupid/sostrng/hoon/glossary.htm).Lapping: involves vehicles being driven at a very slow speed repeatedly around a number ofpredetermined streets. The predominate source of complaint is the volume at which the stereosystems in the vehicles are operated during lapping (Jarred, 2002).Street racing: occurs when two or more vehicles are side by side or in very close proximityto each other and then simultaneously and rapidly accelerate to a higher speed. It is a test ofacceleration, and a conviction requires evidence of a starting and finishing point but not ofany speed in excess of the speed limit being attained. Races predominantly occur onmultilane arterial roads within the built up areas and on the motorways and highways.Road Blockades: are incidents where vehicles, travelling on multi-lane roadways, slowdown to speeds well below the prescribed speed limit to allow vehicles at the front of theblockade to commit street racing offences from a rolling start.Speed Trial:(a) any attempt to establish or break any vehicle speed record of any description on aroad; or(b) any trial of any description of the speed of a vehicle on a road; or© any competitive trial of any description designed to test the skill of any vehicle ordriver or the reliability or mechanical condition of any vehicle on any road.Drifting: this is performed when a vehicle approaches a corner or intersection at relativelylow speed and is then rapidly accelerated through the corner causing the rear of the car toslide out and the tyres to slip on the roadway and screech.Parking up: when hoons gather in large numbers, look at each others cars, network andarrange illegal behaviours.Have bolded the "hilarious" points. So basically if you get someone in a bad mood and/or you give them a bit of attitude, you're in the sh*t! Reckless/careless driving charge + vehicle impoundment + court appearance for what could be something trivial and insignificant. But it is saving our lives I guess! That is QLD, obviously different in other states.

So why the he'll do they keep letting drunk drivers and uncompedant fools drive onOur roads, there the true killers. Not the guy who takes off from the green light when itChanges instead of brushing there hair and ok now I will drive off. Or people cruising playing loud music (that is a big killer. Heard some of those tunes)You wouldn't give a gun to a drunk or a uncompedant fool would you. Yeh I had a time down the cost where we have met up with group of 5 cars and where just taking, no loud music no skids, just as a church group would do and guess what, 2 bike cops come up saying someone complained so they have to move us on, WTF complained about what, what a joke. Anyway one of the guys says is it ok to hang out at the spit. Cop yeh all good, they high tail away. We leave cruise slowly to the spit, and here they where hiding in a dark corner at the entrance, we got out and had a good laugh at them. Obviously they where trying to trap us for doing something we had no intentions of doing. They stayed for a few minutes then sped off. Prob looking for next prey. Another time the cops decide to do a raid on all cars at the old broadwater carpark, my car was stock back then had nothing to worry about, I along with lots of others standing just watching how they where treating people. One guy parked nearby had his stereo running about same level as half vol of premium sound T , just easy listening non annoying music,The senior officer screams verbal abuse at the guy to turn it off. Felt like saying was that called for but bit my tongue or I would join some of the others who commented. I was to scared to video it as well. If you call that justice well sorry to say, your a Fu*ckhe%h. Yes there is some bad in every crowd but does not mean we all have to be stereotyped. In reality these revenue raising pollies should Be accountable for the lost lives of our young from not providing the education and not dealing with the real problem. Drunk drivers.
