ok well..

Random question

If instead of having a turbo timer, can you install a little motor to control the flow of the oil into the turbo to wind it down. Instead of leaving the whole car running can you just have that running..

Done mine - Sonic kit. Happy, took a little time to make it neat but all good. You do have to 'massage' the 90 bend on the turbo end to get clearance but no biggie

Yep, FG. Those that want to fit the sonic kit be aware that you probably should run the filter on the passenger side - not drivers as I've done. RDP in brisbane do it that way - for a reason. The 90 deg bends are arranged to work that way. I put mine on the drivers side because I run the V8 air box and snork and thought it was going to be a bit tight - not a problem with the standard snork. When I was left with the 90 deg bend to screw into the turbo it fouled on the housing and I had massage it to get clearance and kinda ended up with a dog leg offset (seen in photo). You could kink and f*ck it if not careful. It also moves it closer to the manifold - not ideal. They dont touch the shields etc and are teflon braided so heat shouldn't worry it. I am anal however so if it bothers me, I'll get the short hose redone with a straight connector into the turbo which is how it would be if I'd installed the filter on the passenger side. Hope this helps, cheers Bomber.

Update. Have removed the small hose and getting a straight connector put on. Ratter thinks it may have weakened the 90 bend by bending (being alloy) and I'm not taking any chances. Off to enzed tomorrow. Thanks for your advice Mick.
