Ever since I got the my it has had an annoying knock, more like a clicking sound, or lightly tapping a front guard with a 5 cent piece. Ford had the dash out twice and tried everything to no avail. Today I got an oil change and when it was up in the air I had a nosey underneath and on the passenger side there a four or 5 little metal lines that must be for the brakes, anyway they are covered with a thin metal protector plate, upon close inspection was of the lines was right on the plate and the slightest touch or movement would produce the same clicking sound. For the first time in three years I finally got to drive without hearing it.

Having said that I opened the glove box the other day and a 12mm gold plated tophat shape nut fell on the front floor so I can only imagine what else wasn't done up properly last time ford had the dash out.

I reckon there should be a fixed thread just on knocks and squeaks and users post to it once they have found the source. Can save a heap of time.

I had a vibration in the dash at 90 to 110 kph. Easy fix (as in every case) is to turn up the radio. But I could still hear it. I banged and pushed and it was coming from where the tweeter is in the A pillar.

Turned out it was the plastic bit underneat the windscreen wipers. Right at the top on the drivers side. Folded a bit of paper (it was all I had) and stuck it under neath. All gone.

Had other rattles in the front. Swore it was because I have had the ICC out. Was coinage in the console (DOH!)

A bang in the rear. Not over every bunp, but really sounded like the arse end of the car was gunna fall out. I was told it was shock, trailing arms, rear cradle loose, may have even been the spare wheel/jack. Turnes out its my exhaust just hitting on the body.

Had squeaks in the suspension usually attributable to the big pedders sway bars.

Had a ticking at the front at low speed. Front sway again.

Vibration at low speed. Crappy Dunlop SP3000 tyres.

Thing is, if you are like me, I absolutely HATE rattles and knocks. MY car is near on 100,000k and it drives like new cause every squeak gets addressed. However, at weddings I also make sure I fold every napkin 17.5 times and make sure I measure my rubbish bin is the exact distance from the driveway. :w00t2:

No seriously, should have a thread devoted to "Noises".

Glad you fixed yours though.

Hey XtRmn8. Mine was just a constant annoying thing and would tick away at regular intervals. I even had roads where I knew exactly at what spot it would happen, but it wouldn't do it driving over bumps. The metal plate I was talking about was only about a ciggi paper thickness away from the pipe and it was more flex and subtle chassi movement. Sounds like you need to have your car put on one of those chassi bouncing machines that some Pedders places have. It's bloody annoying hey?
