Greens. Mis-informed, tin rattling eugenisists. Green between the ears twits :censored: .

Having said that I hope all and sundry in Qld are safe and OK, my daughter just called and she can't get home from Jimboomba to Munruben, she got somwhere to stay but sounded a bit freaked out.

Would have loved that dam. Freeken platybills and rare frogs. As if they couldn't swim somewhere else. They would have loved it too.. But I bet my ass we could not have used it for ski-ing or sailing.

they are not saying much but the dam above wivenhoe the somerset is way over full and an older type so it can not hold back anymore water.

The catchment is flooded they have no choice but to let the water flow so brisbane will flood and flood bigger than 1974.

The goverment just does not want people to know that it has got it wrong for years that brisbane would never flood again like it did.

The dam has been full for a couple of months and they have been releasing water from all flood gates fully open.

My sister lives near the river although up high but the local crossing near her has been uder water for six weeks but theyy have not released this info to the public.

They were told to rise the dam wall years ago but said it was not needed.

goldie just imagine if the dam wasnt there - gotta remember this flood is WORSE then the 74 floods - it is being compared to the 1893 flood which destroyed brisbane completely so I think that wivenhoe has done its job - imagine if the wall was higher? then when it got to capacity then the whole of the brisbane valley would be flooded - esk would not exist atm

Ippy Update.

Go to the end of my street and look down you see this, it went from the creek running this was ------> under the bridge to the river running this way <------ back in, took a couple hours max to go from under the bridge to this. Red light means raw sewage ewwwwie..

MtCrosbyRoad.jpg

Other end of my road you see this.. `74 was 20 metres, this they predict 22. `74 was to the bottom of where my letter box is now, 22 metres would possibly the front door. but, its a PREDICTION.. The Foon is GORN! to my brothers place. I`m ready to cap looters :P

Couple things concern me... They took all the strengthing out of the railway bridge in town... yoiks.

Just have to wait and see.

when are goverments going to learn dont let people biuld in flood areas and biuld some more dams to catch this water and let it go down the rivers in the dryy times.

Stop spending moneyy on crap like the nbn and spend it where it is needed.

Ian

Absolutely spot on Ian.

The current incumbent drongos unfortunately for us, neither have the brains or the guts to get the job done. The Mary River thing is evidence enough on it's own..... :bangcomputer:

These are pics of the Kedron Brook (yes, normally a brook) which I took today. It was built as flood mitigation after the '74 floods......and it's catchment area is not that huge either.
