One question.

Why would you.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

 Really suprised that there were 9 posts before someone actually asked that question.

Mine goes on without a thought. I think if it was defaulted to off, you guys would want to turn it on. :k24t:

Cheers

I'm in the same boat as Trumpy. Do you guys seriously put on your seatbelt to move the car out of the garage or manoeuvre around the yard? Maybe if you're one of those super keen safety officers out to save eveyone from themselves.

This how it works on mine:put key in ignition, turn to on-then off three times, get out walk around car three times anti clockwise then once clockwise, open and close the boot, kick left rear tyre then get in put seat belt on,sweet.

I tried that and the dog next door started barking....

If I do it again will it shut him up?

The point is, if it's only a few metres why are you so worried about a, in my opinion, unobtrusive reminder that the seatbelt isnt in? Like I said earlier, it's not an annoying beeeepbeeeeepbeeeeepbeeeeep that the commonwhores produce!

Having said that I disabled the one in the work car today, only cos we drive it around base all the time at 40km/h max.

...and now it's a few metres of blissfull silence. Aaaaaaahhhhh. :tease:

True, it's not that bad, but I'd sooner not have it at all. I know I have to wear a seatbelt, I don't need the car to tell me. And don't get me wrong, I'm not one of these people that takes off down the street, spending the next 300m fumbling with coffee and gearchanges trying to put it on. The belt goes on before I take to the street. Always.

I turn it off because it :pooh: me. There's so much in this world that we would be so much better off without. This is just one small victory. Let us all savour it.

To permanently disable the Seat Belt Reminder:

1. Drivers seatbelt ON

2. Hold Hazard Lights button for 30sec

3. Turn Ignition on

4. Unplug and replug seatbelt

5. Should see light flash on dash

.... thereafter, the seatbelt warning light will light for a few seconds when you first turn the car on and then go out.. no chimes... I.e. it'll start acting like the seatbelt warning in other cars!
