Hey they are beautiful machines, I mean if Expensive Daewoo remade hk monaros I'd want one even though do everything worse than a new car.

But as far as any sort of performance goes HD's are right at the bottom of the food chain.

Oh and if anyone has one and wears those stupid skull face masks, every other motorcyclist is laughing at you.

Any of you guys riden a new Harley. The v-rods have Porsche motors, more reliable than the pos we drive. My old boys v rod screaming eagle makes 180rwhp. Obviously it doesn't corner well or go between cars like a roadbike, but that's what the emergency lanes there for

A litre sports bike has that stock though.

I wouldn't compare a Harley to a cbr or gsxr though, more like triumph, victory and the jap cruisers, all of which out perform Harley davidson in acceleration, handling and braking.

I think they need to lift ther game and stop relying on the name an bad boy image.

Should have sold buell instead of stopping them too.

Corners are too much fun to ignore. They ain't great on anything resembling a fun corner. That LH side transfer case is laughable, as are the footboards. Handlebar tassles are another one. Fine if they kept the motors, but the frames, suspension and brakes are in need of moving forward just a few decades. Losing some weight on them would be a help too. Only 2 cylinders to house, but still the weight of the Nimitz. Probably how they manage the "smooth ride" with basic suspension.

But there's always the Harley factor too, the chikz luv it. Lol.

I've never riden any decent sports bikes, but on a nice day the Harley is great to cruise on. It's bagged so I can ride it about 2cm off the ground, low, loud and slow. There's more work to come though, over 200hp will be alright.

Poor ol HD nearly went arse up during the GFC, Warren Buffet and a few others had to sling some serious coin at them to keep them afloat.

The only thing I dont like about Harleys is some of the riders attitudes. Whenever im out on the bike I always nod/wave at a Jap/Sports bike, I always get a nod back or a wave.

Harley owners hardly ever nod back. Must think they are better than us mere faster accelerating, better braking, better cornering folk.

Maybe there was an engineer exchange program within the company that still lingers to this day?????

They seemed to be finally heading in the right direction with the Buell's with the new engine, but have now closed Buell down. I don't think they get the whole business evolution thing.
