I'm in NSW and have gone through it mate. The first three months is mandatory. The second lot of 3 months which is issued because you accrued more than 12 demerit points you will be able to get a good behaviour period for. This is easy and offered to everyone that has a full lisence. All you do is fill in the back of the form that comes with the letter. Now if you breach the good behaviour period it will double the initial period you were meant to sit out for which was 3 months so in total you will have to sit out another 6 months if you stuff up. However you look at it you will be sitting out a miniumum of 3 months.

Now time to invest in a radar detector and laser jammer!

do the crim do the time as for the ones that said the was bad for not dropping the speed why should they he was over the speed limit so that is what he got fined for.

I will be the first to admit I speed but if I get caught well that is my fault why should the cop lower it to save me.

are there any ways around it; ie going and getting a qld licence? Help!!!!

This isn't an option either.....

If you go and apply for a licence in another state....that mean's you would have to make a false statement in order to get it....

If you get picked up and they check, which they almost always do, that's big trouble right there... :hohum:

You can plead loss of job and losing your license will cause hardship and if you have decent record they will give you one point for 12 months. have a look on the RTA website its all laid out there. I think you should also look at the SDRO website. It is possible, then you will have to drive like a grandma for 12 months and if you f*ck up once you walk for 6 months.

I live in Qld and did the probation points for a year. At around 5 mths into the probation I slipped around a semi that had some loose pieces of scrap steel hanging out the side. So I got done again..

I went to court and recieved a work licence for the term of 8 months. 3 to go... Yippeee.... Then back to a full 12 points...

I've also done double or nothing - the good behavior period. As noted above (and I think this is one of the few rules that are the same nation wide) you can accrue a single point without being shafted. It's getting TWO that earns you the double suspension (6 months total here in WA). Was much better than losing it for 3 months.

The issue is there's not much here in WA at least that is only one point, speeding 10-19 over the limit is 2!

0-9 is just a $75 fine I believe. Good for earning cash while allowing people to continue driving to get fined again.

Check the RTA website. You can plead for probation and get points back however if you lose more than 2 points in 12 months you lose your license for 12 months I think
