It's for my Intercooler spray before any of you suggest sex is involved, man that'd hurt.Scotty

Pathology labs do it all the time to store/transport sensitive samples. They do it using a small wooden box about 100x100x150mm with about 6 x 10mm holes in each side and a suitable connector in one end to connect the CO2 line up. Then they drop the sample in and turn on the gas. Hey presto a block of dry ice with the sample snap frozen inside. Not sure of the science but I know it works 'cause I have seen the blocks in the sink and added water for instant fog.....I DONOT recommend you do it, but if you then use extreme caution 'cause it makes lots of noise (ear muffs required) and CO2 burns can be severe. mickq Member 740 Member For: 21y 11m 13d Posted 05/11/03 11:47 AM Share Posted 05/11/03 11:47 AM FYI Ice with salt on it gets colder. I fyou have ice at 0 degrees and add salt onto it after its frozen, its not uncommon for it to measure -10 degrees. Why? Cant remember. But be careful the salt doesnt get near things that can rust.PS making dry ice at home isnt feasible. Easier to buy it. Might make sense for a race day or similar, but its silly building a day to day car that needs it. Better to just use a water spray or similar. If you have to put a 600ml bottle of ice +salt in the reservoir you hold the water in, but its still overkill and not practical for daily use.
