when I pulled off my heat exchanger I couldn't see any sort of thermostat unless its hidden inside which I doubt.

Finally a bit of luck after waiting 4weeks after taking my car back to ford they replaced the Zfbox and heat exchange after it failed, I had my doubts but they came through, I think they should start helping a few other blokes with this problem...
