Finally got around to installing Falcrum superpro diff bushes in my BF Typhoon. What a job. Ford quotes around 6 hours but I think it probably took us about 10 hours all up, which included new centre bush, 2 side bushes, left and right axle seals and an oil change. Needed to do the axle seal as one was leaking so decided to do both.

Centre bush was easy to install but both sides need to be pressed in or in our case, heavily persuaded as it comes with an outer casing. The old bushes didn't look to bad but where a bit soft.

The end result is now I have a rear end which makes no noises and cannot hear any difference in road noises compared to the stockies. I went for the comfort superpro bushes. Also, I don't know whether im imagining things or not, but I used to get a slight clunk under throttle when changing from 5th to 6th (auto) but now appears to be alot smoother. Maybe the rear end was slightly out of alignment.

I recently had the harder Fulcrum SuperPro centre diff bush installed,

Very solid and fixed rear end now. When reversing at idle, I can hear the drive train going through the motions (gear noise translated through the body) which is fine. Whilst cruising, I gave it full throttle and backed off and experienced an all-mighty whack from the rear end. Will monitor how the noises go from now on but that first whack scared the crap out of me. Been driving it sedately since but will see how it functions down the quarter mile.

Hi Robo

I to have the same problem with the left hand side seal in the diff leaking.

Just wondering whats involved for replacing the seals.

Also while replacing the seals I was thinking of installing Falcrum superpro diff bushes at the same time.

By any chance do you have the part numbers???

Any help will be most appreciated!

Regards Brett

I put the front diff bushes in the freezer over night, they went in half way by hand and then pulled in easily with a piece of 10mm threaded road and a couple of nuts and big washers
