the inner guard liner with a hole cut out and some mesh in its place, to let air flow through there better. the cooler is in front of that I believe.

Thinking of doing this soon. Most auto transmission places say that the heat exchanger should be changed every 100k as they corrode.

Did much coolant come out when you did this? How did you stop the coolant and ATF from coming out?

Cheers.

Sorry to dig up an old thread...

Does anyone have the part no. for the bigger heat exchanger? I do a fair bit of heavy towing and wouldn't mind upgrading. Ford always want the VIN number when ordering parts.

yep, KTM.

no, not much fluid lost - less than cup, went for a drive and its shifting the same.

however, I'm going to do another service fill of the box next week anyway.

sorry mate no idea.

also, I'm only going by what the ford parts guy said when he looked it up on his computer in that the r-spec and territory one are the same. if someone else could confirm it to be true or BS that would be good.

So I was going to ask if you got from a third party supplier or ford."Ford Parts guy" answers that I guess. Some dealers are saying 'no stock' at the moment. So maybe it is an Air to fluid cooler I need at the moment. (its preventative , not disaster (yet).
