Want:

  • to have 320ish rwkw @12psi morning noon and night. well controlled boost.

Dont want:

  • to lose the fg bottom end this round.
  • to have it wound up to 15psi to hide if its overboosting.

if a 12psi actuator port and flap will give me that then why not do it?

if I dont need the mod to get what im after then I wont do it.

honestly I would be scraping for any more cash before it goes in to Mick next month...

based on your requirements, if you want it to hold 12 psi through the rev range you will need probably an 8lb actuator and the port job otherwise the actuator will cause the overboost to become a lot more

What about boost controller?

are we relying on the wastgate to control boost?

well 320ish at 12-14 psi on a hot or cold day morning or freezing night.

just the overboosting thing has me a tad concerned... I dont really understand it.

Think ill just leave it to you Mick. I know you wont kill my car haha... Otherwise I might be drivin out in a red fg v8 ute with PITLNE plates :stirthepot:

Mate, you're all over the place. Need to do some planning otherwise you're gunna be going back for retune after retune. I'd get some advice from Ratter given he's tuning it. I wouldn't do the quads personally but I'm an old fart. The ones I've seen look nasty and trying to be something the car aint IMO. I doubt it would provide any benefit given the extra pipework etc. I'd just go with bigger twin tips myself but personal choice. That or a big single mother - they always look tough. I like that you're having a go yourself mate. Nice muffler choice too - magna flow make good stuff. :beerchug:

Im here for advice mate. Not all over the place, this is where Im doing my planning. All of this will be done before its first tune.

The plan is pretty much done, only the zorst needs to be sorted. I thought adding port job on turbo wasnt to big a deal if it needed it... Spose it sounds all over the place but that's just me thinkin out loud and runnin ideas around...

Im also not keen on quads, I think its more a V8 thing. It will definately be 4" through to last muffler.

Thanks for the muffler vote mate :beerchug:

yawn.. If you have a F6 turbo laying around.. do wastegate port, get a 15psi actuator, and fit that.

The loss of bottom end will be hidden by the extra power you can get top end.

Depending on the boost level, 90% of FG's I've done have needed valvesprings.

And as for exhaust. just go the single 4". The less divides you have the better.. Plus, quads look gay :)
