R-SPEC You are a dead set goose Silver Donating Members 3,968 Member For: 19y 1m 6d Gender: Male Location: Melbourne Posted 08/01/11 05:35 AM Share Posted 08/01/11 05:35 AM Being an FG and through a manual and a good tune you'll easily see some good 300 numbers with those mods with heaps of throttle response, however the XR6 turbo has the smaller inducer wheel so it might run out of puff. That cooler won't keep your air temps down on a hot day but meh, get a better one when you get some more cashish

Maybe you should do everything you can without touching the turbo for now, max the little bad boy outThen when you get used to the power/over it, port the turbo or upgrade

I love these cars definate project cars and havent regretted changing from jap cars to these love em I think also u shud call up around for exhaust see if any1 can fabricate it for less.dont worry about the turbo lol brand new car/turbo why would u wanna change it ! when u hear it screeching and about to die.. I am useless with a spanner. Well I upgraded my own brakes so can't be too hopeless. I just worry if I undo something (And I am soooo good at taking sh1t apart) I wont be able to put it back together.Luckily I have a mate (Rusty) who is always keen to get his hands dirty for the price of a feed. But I agree. If I had done all my work and just lobbed at a tuner and said "Here - Tune" I would have saved buckets.

UPGRADE\that's all well and good...Im a sheetmetal worker by trade and spent 15 years straight doing nothing but fabricating and tig welding stainless steel sheet and tube. The problem is you can spend days fabricating sh*t and it just doesnt work. Can be better value in the end buying something that is tried and tested then you know exactly what to expect. Also it will take much much longer and the car will be off the road much longer if I fabricated everything myself. Yes I can install it all myself and save a few bucks, but I work 6 days a week and if its not done in one sunday then the cars off the road till next sunday. then its still off the road till I can book it in for tune and get trailer to tow it down.In a nutshell, if I had the time I would do it all myself, I easily could. I could of purchased $700.00 process west kits or plazmaman, but I cant justify it being spent especially since I have a mortagage and bills. based on the experience the journey is what counts and u learn so much and see how it responds thus new mods you'll think of and can fabricate also.but really I understand your at work 6 days that's your bread n butter so I completely understand your situation. I hope this car pulls hard and when it does post a clip mate.. lookin forward to it ! =) Edited 15/01/11 04:16 PM by zayd687
