Hi everyone.

After a few days skimming through the forums on some bang for buck upgrades and have narrowed it down to this list.

Once the year kicks off and everyones open again I shall start booking my fg XR6T ute in.

Firstly the cars an ex demo with 7500kms so all running gear should be fine.

Let me know your thoughts on these combos good or bad, worth it or not, expected kw gain, better options etc. :-)

PWR Stepped Cooler approx. $990 (I like the idea of no trimming)

PWR Pipe Kit approx $825 (expensive just for some plumbing?)

XForce 4" Dump+ Race Cat approx $900 (would prefer a stainless option)

A friend will fabricate a custom twin 3 1/2 cat back to tips (probably the 4" dump also)

Then finally drop it off at HPF for the little tweaks and custom tune

FP-F Venom 330kw package $2295

Anyway, keen to hear some responses.

Not keen on irreversible mods. (not yet lol)

If can get 300+rwkw for around 5-6k then I'm happy

Cheers...

-Ben

Ild go the herrod pipe kit from pitlane for $450.

Then a pitlane tune. Micks just done g6ey with similar mods (herrod pipe kit, pwr cooler, dump & cat, injectors and tune) the results are in the pitlane thread. Basically limited by the fg's turbo with those mods.

I think what Henz has suggest would be the most cost effective path with the best results. I think sourcing the parts seperately rather than purchasing a kit means you can get exactly what you need rather than something that you don't. This tends to happen with kits. Dump pipe and cat is all you need for exhaust mods and $5k should easily get you over 300rwkw's.

Benny.

dont get a 'kit' with a power figure quoted. go to a good tuner (hpf is fine) and talk to them directly. they can let you know what mods will net what power/ drivability (no point in getting a 600rwkw tune when you get turbo lag till 4500rpm). :buttonit:

fg turbo's are pretty much at the limit at 350rwkw due to small turbo. very quick off the line though..... :buttrock:

They did... Then Danny left to go to Springy motors...

Not sure what their tuners are like now...

Why didn't you go there *Beep*? They are closer to where you live than Dynomite?

herrod pipe kit sounds good :ta:

Cant find g6ey's thread :dontknow: got a link please?

Yea I reckon ditch the xforce things for something of better quality.

What you recommend?

$5k should easily get you over 300rwkw's.

Awesome... Cause that's as far as I can stretch at moment.

Yer I think Ill source all parts first then go to hpf to make it all work at its highest potential.

+1 ^

just talk to hpf. they know their sh*t.

Next question is how much would be overkill/money wasted because of turbo bottleneck?

Can 300+rwkw be reached without all these mods?

j.d's thread (I see he beat you henz lol) in Pit Lane thread says he achieved 304rwkw with just Nizpro injectors and a 5 inch race cat

and tune @12 psi.

I dont wanna shell out all this money and be restricted to 350rwkw and find out I shoulda upgraded turbo instead.

Im happy with 300-350rwkw so please tell me if I dont need "all" these upgrades to achieve it :beerchug:
