I agree with Mondie that 18s give that 'look' that you don't quite get with 17s. I've never been a huge fan of leather, but that's just my personal thing.

Actually leather is not more expensive to have fitted aftermarket.

My opinion, worth 2.2c less 3.4% for inflation, is that there is no substantial benefit of 18s over 17s. There is the tyre cost issue already mentioned, but you're not paying so what the heck? However the risk of damage to the rims and tyres is greater, and, while the cost of repairing/replacing them may not concern you, the resale will be effected if a purchaser notices damage on the rims. He will suppose that the car hasn't been particularly well cared for.

Leather is bloody awful to sit in/on. It is too hot in summer and freezing cold in winter. It doesn't hold you in place during exhuberent cornering. It is also more difficult to look after, and again, leather may appeal to a second buyer but not if it is showing signs of wear and tear.

I would choose premium brakes and a sunroof (or even sat nav) as alternative ways of shedding some unwanted cash. Just wish I had some :smilielol:

um, we have beige leather in our company LTD (1995 DF) , it has done 180,000km and no signs of wear or marks and as far as I'm concerned, it isn't a lightly used car. And it's like a lounge chair, it's so comfy and you don't lose that new car smell either. Also, if you spill red drink or somethin on leather, it'll wipe right off, but unless you get the protection on the cloth, it won't.

My opinion hasn't changed....GO THE LEATHER!

No Way, ive had my t since december, so that means ive had it in both summer and winter, There is no way its horrible to sit on leather it might get hot in summer with no air con, but so would any car and no offence to the people without leather but the plexis interior is just plain tacky( my opinion of couse). The 18" look much better the the 17"s as well. that's why its a option. Id go they leather instead of the 18" though because with out the leather your interior won't look any good!

Go the 18" mate and the cloth trim with GT stitched on the seats, that should satisfy the resale aspect..........workes for me! :D

... are the ducks guts

Slightly off-topic here (sorry, go figure?) but, I've never understood that saying "Duck's guts"?

What exactly is sooo good about the intestines of a duck ... can't be looks, surely?

Anyone ...

Um, they make pate out of geese guts don't they . Maybe its something to do with that...

While we are at it, what about 'bees knees' - what is so great about the knees of a bee??

I would have to say go with the leather, although a sun roof also sounds like a good idea too. Both would make a bigger difference to most buyers than an extra inch :o

I vote for the leather as well. No offence but I dont' like the Plexis either sorry guys & gals.

Having had both cloth and leather, I can't agree that leather is hard to keep in good condition. Regular wipes with a conditioner, and garaging keeps it really tidy. Spill something on the cloth, and what a nightmare.

As for wheels, personally I like the 17s and I didn't want to risk making the ride any firmer (it is a family car for us most of the time).
