On yours thou that would probably result in noises from the muffler hitting the tray or chassis.Other option is to put a flex piece of exhaust in to stop the transmission of movement through the whole system. Donating Members 8,142 Member For: 13y 10m 6d Gender: Male Location: 2 Fuchsia Court, Narre Warren. 3805 Posted 08/04/12 11:42 PM Author Share Posted 08/04/12 11:42 PM (edited) there is atleast 20mm of sideways movement in the rear muffler with the nolothane bushes in place, the brocken bracket was from the sheer weight of the muffler bouncing up and down and the bracket design with one weld across the 0.9mm sheet used on the muffler.was enevitable it was going to tear it open like a tin can. However I am picking up 600mm of flex pipe tomorrow arvo and replacing about 400mm where it goes over the diff and maybe a piece about 200mm just before the mount I made to the gearbox, but Im not sure on that one yet.Once that's done the rear muffler will be solid mounted to get rid of the annoying rattles Im still getting from the mounts.
