as long as you sand and oil the timber back once every 6 months the boards will last, building decks you find out whats sh*t and whats good to use :)

Could probably get away with using interior floor boards that clip lock together for a tight look too, just seal it in your garage and ont let the bare timber get wet or it will stain

When I was awake in bed thismorning I was thinkin bout the headboard. Only problem in I was going to do the back window. It would be to much doing both. But yer if I did the headboard I wouldnt need to do the back window.

I definately want to do "something" in the floor of the tray though. Even if its just some kind of pattern laser cut from stainless, or even checkerplate. Kinda advertises what The business is capable of.

As for treating the timber, when all the aluminium is mirror polished it will be sprayed in a clear coat to stop it dulling and keep the fingerprints off. Would this also work on the timber?

Or would fibre glassing it be a viable option?

I ask about fibre glass as my dad just built a canoe and fibre glassed it, came up pretty sweet.

id say fibreglass for its strength, if your dad could do something so big and flat and have an awesome finish to it, thatd be the best.
