Good luck with your goal. Have you every owned or driven a 1000hp street car....

I think the biggest item is knowing what you want then working out how to get there. Do it once only and do it right. I have been through half a dozen gear boxes, please don't get me started. :blaah:

Do Not Forget when these types of rigs are customized to handle really big power they loose the factory feel in regards to drivability. Did 400kms in mine the other day in 1 hit, got out of the thing knacked.

As others have stated the buget will need to be heaps, trust me mate lets just say mine build is over 100k with another 15k on a fuel system to achive what your after.

6BOOST, you got the job of my next build mate, especially for 50k for 1000hp. :sold:

Then even with the hole Ute being built you want to have coin left over for breakages as qik1 said

You will find heaps of great forum members that will be very willing to assist serious contenders. :beerchug:

Have you been in one with around 350 plus RWKW at all?

Maybe get someone to take you for a drive in something with basic mods making that power

and see what you think first.

Still drives well etc and will cost very little compared to what your thinking and quicker than

95% of the things on the road.

Cheers for the replys guys, yes im serious about this I have been buying the bolt on parts for it like exhaust, plenum ect, yes im serious about doing this, I have been in a car that's had 400rwkw and that's probably what started it.

I have been talking to poeple about what I need done and am expecting a lot of stuff breaking, I am not worried about loosing money gotta spend it on something no im not some little rich kid who gets their parents to pay for it, im just a fitter/machinist working hard in the mines, and wanna do something for a bit of fun.

What about the 6 to 8k for brakes and suspension?

Then very sticky and wider wheels & tyres.

These projects can take a lot of time, and you will most likely exceed your budget.

If you want the job done properly, start with a $60k budget, not $25k, then another $20-30+ for extra parts & breakages & retunes along the way.

If you don't take notice of us that have been through this then you are having yourself on.

I suggest you buy another car for run around purposes, as the car will spent its share of time off the road.

The only real place for this power is the drag strip, and doing 135+ passes is a lot of fun.

450rwkw is more than plenty for the street, and a very quick car. Above that the price per extra kilowatt increases exponentially.

Good luck with the project.

Brian

No Benjamins $$$$ & the right associates No Glory :innocent::dontknow: Measure yourself and your goals, ascertain&Decide your path and its achievability, do your homework & begin with the end in mind... Also...... add 30% just for good measure & fail safe... :innocent: But what do I know, that's just my humble opinion :buttrock::surrenderwave::icon_ford:

Happy new year :beerchug:

Welcome to the forums mate, There is alot of experience replying to this thread, so learn from others as it will save you $$$.

Also I think you MIGHT need to readjust the $25K+ to $50K+ after it is all over and done with.

All the best with the build up and start a thread with pics to keep everyone up to date.
