Thanks for the feedback guys much appreciated, Benny what your saying makes sense but what really pisses me off is how the dealer and Ford have just wiped their hands of the matter and they have made the decision for me regarding warranty. My initial plan was to keep the car stock until the factory warranty ran out then do mods.

What really pushed my button was the FPV dealers solicitor sending me an email where amongst other things denying that they presented the car as having factory warranty. Are they for real!!!!!!!!! who pays $50K+ for a car less than a year old and doesn't expect to have the balance of the new car warranty? When I initially purchased the car I received an email from the dealer to offer me the option to extend the factory warranty!!!! WTF........

I could take the option that Benny suggests but I believe in people taking responsibility for their actions. Because they stuffed up and didn't pick up that the car was modified I shouldn't be disadvantaged with Ford possibly not honouring any warranty claims I may make. This is the reason I paid premium dollar and bought from a dealer.

By all means if you have the time stick it to em, I was merely pointing out the quality of the service dept. You should have copies of everything you signed, did you notice anything about the warranty being void in anything you signed?

I doubt that it has larger or drilled injectors in it with the stock tune. If it did, it would be pissing fuel out the tail pipe like nobodies business and it has not been stated that it is happening.

Food for thought.

Darcati,

It would be hard to just sit back and let them bend you over and I completely understand how your felling and thinking. If you have the time and money then by all means dig your heals in and give it to them. It looks as though they have done there best to scare you by sending you an e-mail from their solicitor in hope you will walk away. I guess the decision is with you. If you decide to take them on then legal advice might be a good start for you.

Whatever you decide good luck and let us know how you go.

Benny

Mate, it might pay to give the ACCC a call or check their site. I've attached a link. If nothing else, an email back to the dealer advising that you are having the matter investigated by the ACCC might get them moving. Also, this will cost nothing in the first instance, unlike getting a solicitor involved straight up.

Since when is there no balance of 'new car' warranty from the dealer? What a f**king joke! Right there is where I'd be focusing my attention because they can't win that one. I'd write to the dealer and give them a reasonable time line to respond - say two weeks. Include in it that failure to respond will result in the vehicle being repaired by an 'alternate' and all associated costs with the repair/s will be forwarded to the dealer for reimbursement within (7) business days. Good luck.

I have a XT6 trubo (Auto) and have had the stalling issue for 2-years.

Happenes about once a month, when I pull up at a set of lights.

car drops revs & stalls (no shudder).

kinda creepy how quietly it does it LOL

It has been back to 3 different ford dealers, who ALL "upgrade" the software and the problem goes away

HOWEVER, the car then idles at 1,300 rpm, so back it goes, they un-do & I'm back with the annoyance of stalls.

2-months to go before warranty ends, then its to TUNEHOUSE !!!!

I had the same trouble with my ute. It was like the brake was a kill switch & as you pushed it down pulling up to the lights the revs would just drop & shut the car off. Kind of like braking to a stop in a manual without putting the clutch in.

Simon @ XFT tweaked something on the tune & it's run sweet ever since.

It is quite a common problem though & nobody has any real definite answers for it. If the revs are going up quite high sometimes as well as stalling it's normally the throttle position sensor but mine had no problem revving high, just the stalling. After a while you could sense when it was going to do it & quickly release the brake to recover the revs but it was quite annoying pulling up at the lights jerking like a 16yr old. Glad it's fixed.

Anyone have any more ideas about fixing a stalling problem when rolling up to a set of lights.

Apparently the FG I have has had this issue before it was tuned. Every now and then it will stall or hunt a little when rolling up to a set of lights. I think it happens more in colder weather.

I have heard to check out/replace fuel purge solenoid/o2 sensor and throttle body.

I am just going to try parts substitution as it throws no error codes.

Anyone have any other suggestions to try. Its just one of those needle in a hay stack things.

Mate camp out ford take a couple of weeks off work and just campaign the f*ck outta there establishment make signs up to stick inside your car be as annoying as you can inform customers. You may get the cops called but f*ck it inform today tonight kick up a big enough stink and it will end up on there show.

This has happened before a man bought a fg xr6t and did a campaign out the front of his ford dealer today tonight got involved eventually ford cracked and offered him a brand new vehicle to replace his.
