Guest XR09 Guests Posted 26/05/11 04:13 AM Share Posted 26/05/11 04:13 AM For bushes. On the front it will be uneven tyre wear. They will try and fix it with a wheel alignment. But mostly it's the control arm bushes. These can also cause or let brake shudder happen. And they will try and grind your rotors away to a premature death. Only a decent suspension place will pick it up before you waste money. On the rear it will be uneven tyre wear again. And excessive wheel tramp. For the bearings it will be a noise on the opposite side too what your turning into, as in turning into a right hander you will get a groan or chirping from the left side. Or driving by a barrier or wall you will hear a chirping sound.I usually only get about 6 to 8,000k's out of my tyres and I have a good suspension guy. So I always get a wheel alignment and balance on every new set of rubber. When your paying above five hundered a corner for tyres its worth the little extra. Got Ford to replace them which seems to have been my first mistake (wanted it done ASAP) - one is stuffed again at 170,000km. That's 3 months driving for me.Cost $328 for the pair of "BA 1215 A" Bearing Hubs, and $481.09 in labour...the dead hub has prematurely killed the tyre on that side too which I'm off to get replaced this morning. $&^%*. SKF hubs units for these cars didn't even exist at the time of that post. I don't know if they even exist now. Swedish company not too interested in the tiny australian car market.
