iotlek Member 17 Member For: 17y 6m 3d Gender: Male Location: Perth Posted 21/01/11 11:29 AM Author Share Posted 21/01/11 11:29 AM Hi GuysRight I am trying to remove my turbo to investigate/inspect it for issues I have been havingI have read the thread "removal-of-turbo-in-preperation-of-porting-and-valve-mod" Basically I have been at this for 3 nights (2-3hrs each night) to try and get the 2 right hand side bolts for the Turbo to manifold stud/nuts undone. I do not know what to do as for the life of me I can not get them undone.I have tried every spanner I have, including ratchet as mentioned in the thread, also unbolted the actuator bracket to help.(photo stolen from removal-of-turbo thread)I have tried every angle I can think of to get it off I have used wd40 etc...The problem is these 2x nuts appears to be warn plus the lining up of the nut is either to far each way (if the spanner is hitting each side of the turbo before it even grips if you know what I mean)I am not sure what to do now and how I am going to get these 2x nuts off.Can I use some sort of lock wrench like this at least for the top one. Also I am not sure its going to help me that much with the crapped out top bolt (bottom one seems to be in good condition its more of a access issue with that one.In the case I do have to go this far I assume I would need to get a new gasket for the manifold when I bolt it back up or can I reuse the existing one ?Cheers Edited 22/01/11 02:05 AM by RHR No need to quote above post. Another option along with having it warm which may loosen it is to get a spanner and trim the sides of the ring down to make it fit.The spanner will end up pretty weak but you might just get it and enough access with it shaved/trimed down.
