Ok so the news of the F6 bottom ends not being built till early may had prompted us to build as follows:-

hmm... I'm building my FG atm list below:-

H beam rods

CP pistons

Copper head gasket

street girdle

ACL race series bearings

Head slight port and serviced

ARP head studs

billet oil gears and pump mod

ETC…

Now my problem will be that my turbo will run out of puff way before my engine does!

Wish the budget streched to allow a GTX3582!!!

Sorry dude, should have checked the other threads. Mind you, this story is like watching a 4 hour movie sitting on a bar stool :roflmbo: Going this far, have you considered the run in. If I had the coin, I'd do it on the dyno. Gotta tune it anyway and this way you get things right straight up IMO.

Yeah mate def will consider run in on dyno! 15 - 20 mins of 80 - 90 kms per hour and then do some checks and then start the power runs!

Hey if it breaks on the dyno in 30 mins it was only going to break on the road in 3 months or less anyway!

Yeah it's been a long saga and I can now at least see light at the end of the tunnel and it's not a train this time!:buttrock:

You've been sh*t outta luck and forgeting performance for a minute, haven't actually got to enjoy an FG.

Dyno is so important with mods and fresh engines. Wrong AFRs etc with fresh rings means poor initial bite and loss of power. You really only get one shot at it and dyno is the way to go. Good luck and I would expect 330 ish with your combo plus the advantage of much better oil pump, springs, etc so should do it all day long. Cheers, Bomber.

What a story man

Atleast everything seems to be working out now !!

I say to everyone, if your gonna mod your car, build the engine first! and this crap wont happen, make sure you find a tuner who actually knows what they are doing! not some back street 2 dollar idiot. lol

I have a xr6T 05 BA which has 270kws but that's how I bought it, its staying that way cuz my other car ive put 40k into.. and I did the same thing modded the crap out of it, but didnt build the engine till it was too late, ran 1.45.02 at eastern creek track on 28psi, great time for a street car with sh*t setup, but next day it started missing etc.... hairline cracked piston!! But now all good :)

I look forward to some dyno sheets after you get everything going!! Should be SAAAWEEET

The engine is back in the car but they ran out of time for the cooler and the surge tank fitment!

So pick up is Monday.

But will need to run up 500kms then dump oil and so a new filter, then run up another 500 and then go time for power runs and final figure!

I reckon late next week will be go time.

Watch this space.

Some picks of the Engine bay!

300 kms to go and then bring on the power runs!

Cooler still to be fitted but not needed for the run in.
