Hey Matt,

Sounds like things are going to move ahead at least, good luck with it all, as it says above, the F6 short should be pretty bullet proof, I am pretty sure they should hold a pretty hefty level of power, so you should be right... What about taking the turbo off the BF and sticking it on the end of the F6 short motor? Any more thoughts?

Cheers

Carl

Ok so the news of the F6 bottom ends not being built till early may had prompted us to build as follows:-

hmm... I'm building my FG atm list below:-

H beam rods

CP pistons

Copper head gasket

street girdle

ACL race series bearings

Head slight port and serviced

ARP head studs

billet oil gears and pump mod

ETC…

Now my problem will be that my turbo will run out of puff way before my engine does!

Wish the budget streched to allow a GTX3582!!!

Ok so bit of an update.

I’ve decided to also add a Process West Surge Tank and 044 into the mix and I’ve also sent my Turbo off to be Ported and the Flapper mod done. The Head was dropped off today and while it’s on the bench I’ve also decided to put some 80lb valve springs in it. The Cylinder head guy is also smoothing over all the sharp edges so as to reduce the effects of detonation god hope should there be any at some stage.

Oh also changing to a Rapid FG V1 full kit upgrade in black so nice and stealthy too!

So I reckon that the engine will be good for 500+ kws but I we’ll see what power can be made on 16 – 18 lbs and leave it right there!

Should be hopefully around the 330 – 350 mark!

Now to another nightmare that happened this week!

Found a brand new FG XR6T Long motor with a brand new F6 bottom end (all tested and stuff taped up on a pallet, basically ready to be dropped straight into a new home)for sale up in Queensland on Monday. Rang the guy had a chat and by the end of the phone call I’d made him an offer and he took it.

So I got his account details and TT’ed the money right away. He sent me the pick up details and when I saw the address “Innisfail” I went Sh*t I better jump straight onto my trucking company. So got straight onto the blower and my trucking company guy assured me that he would pick it up 1st thing Tuesday morning. So I was like “lucky” as I need to beat this little storm that might be blowing up the next day. Well I ring my guy later on Tuesday afternoon just to check that all went well and the pick up was made.

Well after my initially greeting and about 5 seconds of nothing I knew the bastard had forgotten!

Yep he did so my spare brand new donk is sitting in a workshop on the middle of Innisfail right now probably shivering and scared out of its cams as to what the big scary noise and shaking is!

So who knows what will happen hey!

Might never see this motor ever or at the very least can’t see a truck rolling into “Innisfail” anytime soon to do the pick up!

Cars hey! Some times I wonder why we bother!

Thoughts go out to our NQ buddies!
