If its the same as its been when I was in the industry, your car will be flagged for no warranty on engine or drivetrain. Everything else will be intact.

A very good friend of mine went through exactly the same thing as you, and even though Ford didnt perform the repairs, they did the diagnostics, and subsequently flagged it.

The prior owner only answers SMS's and won't take my calls (very weak if you ask me) so his last message was "So is there anything I can do from up here to help you out" my reply was "yeah how about giving me 5k back"

I guess the lesson here guys is that when you buy a used modified car make sure you don't use the stereo for the 1st say 100 kms of spirited driving, so you can listen out for signs of detonation and pinging!

Anyways suck it up move on and booooooossstttt it I say!

Oh yeah hopefully they don't black flag my warranty as well! Though my work pays for all my repairs, fuel, rego, insurance etc..l essentially if I have a car cost I don't pay for it. Actually just quietly my work paid for at least a 3rd of my BF mods! Naughty Naughty!

Unfortunate mate but expected outcome. The 330rwkw sealed that deal. Lucky you got it cheap! One thing though, you need to accept your mechanical warranty is gooorne. Your only chance would be to purchase a new engine from Ford; have them fit it and keep it stock. Other than that, accept that it's all over and see it as a chance to mod it your way. With your budget, you should be able to source a donk with F6 internals. There was one on ebay recently. Worst case, you may need to chuck your head on it. If you're going to mod, spend coin on billet oil pump gears (atomic sell them) and valve springs. You can't replace oil pumps in Fg's without pulling the motor I've been told so great chance to fix a well documented and known weak link. You can do valve springs on the car but fiddly. Those things with an F6 bottom end will pretty much make it bullet proof. Hope it all goes well mate. Cheers, Bomber.

Wife was told this afternoon... she took it far better than was to be expected!

The budget of 6 - 7 k was also approved...yes I'm still in shock!

I did mentioned to her what Riki said to me "spend all the money you get for the BF on modding the FG" and that wasn't received all that well!

So will order the F6 short tomorrow, prob to oil gears not full pump and a girdle!

But as I said will sit down with the tuner tomorrow and work it through!

Stay tuned (pardon the pun)!

Veva
