Just read start to finish, good to see you have gone so far with the car. Think I may have seen it in the staging lanes but didn't realise just how much of a sleeper it is! Was modball a good experience/would you do it again? Looks like it got you a bit of tv exposure which is always good

So I took the blue nugget for a 9 hour drive down to Heathcoate Park Dragway over the weekend as most of you know I've been banned from WSID so it was the only place left where I could run 9's after 9's without getting kicked out.

Well it started very promising with a just basically a small traffic light launch just to get the car down the track which resulted in a 9.9 @ 151.7 mph.... so as you could imagine I was pumped and keen to get straight back to the line again and this time leave with some boost on board.

So did my skid staged up and dialed up more stall ( could have gone more as track surprisingly was very well prepped) and left this time netting a 1.60 60ft pulled 2nd gear it hooked too so I'm thinking PB time for sure then...... just about to pull 3rd gear and booooom cooler hose blows off.... and I roll from half and still manage a 10.2 @ 112 mph.

So back to the pits and put hose back on and try again... 3rd run and hose pops again but this time during the burnout. What we don't realize at this point is that the hose hasn't come off it's actually split. So I reverse back out of stage and get back to pit again and we sort of scratch our heads. Loosen it up again re tension it up and try again..

Nope no boost... turns out the split was underneath the hose so at no stage could we see it and ultimately we have to pack it up as it's now 4pm Sunday afternoon and myself and a couple of the boys need to be back in Sydney for work Monday.

So we decide to throw in the towel and chuck her back on the trailer and get on our way back to Sydney.

Seems cruel that we drove 1760 kms for 1 pass and a 20 dollar silicon joiner was what let us down.

Well that's racing they say....

so unlucky that it broke so late in the day... could have popped over to Bendigo to grab a silicon joiner from an auto shop... but they close at probably 3pm (haven't checked) on a Sunday.

Top work on getting a 9 straight off the bat, though! :)
