I actually really like the look of it - and from the interior; I'm assuming it'll be something we'll see available for the FG mkII falcons.. The 8" touchscreen does look awesome - I hope it's not like the silly attempt HSV did with theres - a non-adaptive touchscreen in a car is just asking for trouble.

Parents were looking to get a SUV/4x4 for travels - I now have a perfectly good turbo diesel Ford to show them when it's available - definitely a nice looking car, both in and out! Well done ford, I'm envious of this car's features and look, especially those front head lights and body-bits.. I'm thinking the FG mkII will be very similar in some aspects...

Just noticed this as the specs for the entry model...

http://www.2011territory.com.au/range.html

-Rear parking sensors and reversing camera

-5-inch black and white display

Reverse camera on a black and white display???

That's far from an official Ford site.

CSP, did you get a chance to play with the touchscreen ?

Does it have a memory to rip music to ?

Does Satnav come standard ? if so do you still need a remote or is it touchscreen ?

Are the headlights steering adjustable like a mondaeo ?

How would you compare the power to a TTG vs the Turbo 2.7 ?

ZAP, the car we had was loaded with prototype parts, some features and functionality of the touch screen were disabled, so can't really comment on the memory/Ripping music. Didn't have SATNAV and I didn't notice the headlight feature. This was a TS spec, so could be something for Titanium perhaps. Don't know that they would really need it though, the headlights work fine, and on high beam would fry the eyeballs of anything coming in the opposite direction.

In terms of performance compared to the TT, well different animals completely. The Turbo is willing to Rev while the diesel is happy all the way off idle to 5-5,500rpm's. The torque of the diesel gets the Tezza moving with ease and can reach speeds well above 100 with minimal fuss ( overtaking tests ;) ) The diesel has that typical sound from outside the cabin, but definitely not as bad as some other 'cheaper' diesel examples, but from within the cabin, has quite a deep sound, with the turbo only slightly breaking through.

I saw one the other day in town up here in Northern Territory - I picked it out as it drove past from the chrome grill and LED lights. Not sure who's it is, but it had NT plates on it, and from my understanding, they're not suppose to go on sale till May?

The dealers don't even have them yet...

Hmm..

After todays first day of training on the new beast, the old is just no comparison. Cant say much as had to sign confidentiality agreement but its a nice rig and a great package/setup. Those who have waited wont regret it.
