Hello People just looking for information on ming protection for you car. Most ford dealers use to tint there automotive windows, rust protection, etc.

Is it worth it or use aftermarket window tinting such as formula one Tint-A-Car (ie darker tint)

I think from a personal experience dealerships charge through the roof for that kind of stuff. I would go aftermarket anyday.. even for better quality stuff

Get Paint Protection...it's worth it...after-market or dealer, it will still be worth it. All the other stuff, it doesn't matter if you get it from the dealer or somewhere else

I agree with Mal on the paint protection, we had it on our previous car and its worth the money. It really works. Must get it on the XR6T sometime soon.

I have the entire MING range installed/applied on my XR6 and it was pretty reasonable. I got the works installed for $1500 (Full window tint side/back non-metallic, paint protection, fabric protection, vinyl protection, rust proofing and sound proofing).

I figured that I may as well get the works because the car is leased and if I didn't get the dealer to do it before they gave the car to me, I'd never want to part with the car to get it all installed later. :)

l dont know what it is exactly, but it works!

We had paint protection applied to our TS by a local panel beater for $150, took him around 5 hours to prepare the car and apply. In the 12 months we owned the car after the treatment it never lost its "just polished" shine and slippery feel. Panel beater reckoned it would last the life of the car. He used some German system that he clamied was the best, dont know its name. Made the car very easy to wash, great as l hate washing cars. Bugs, bird turd etc washed off easily and after 12 months the water still beads (geez its starting to sound like that awful Nu Finish TV ad) but you get the idea :D

Easily worth a 150 bucks.

The can potential have a big problem with the paint protection if you have an accident. You need to check if your insurer will pay the costs to reprotect the damaged area., In other words, out of your own pocket if they won't. Worth a 15 cent call!

Fabric protection, go to Grace Bros, DJ's and but the best fabric protection you can get buy and do it yourself for under $50.00 bucks. I found it to be just a effective. :D

Window tint, go aftermarket as I found my dealer would not offer me the range that I could get elsewhere and they cost more than I could get as well. :alien:

Good luck
