I feel sorry for you mate this is not good at all.

As for bent rod they will knock before the bearing stuffs up as it tries to turn the piston over in the bore and also hits the side of the bore.

I would be on there door step tomorrow demanding they fix your motor and tune it right or tell them you are going to consumer affairs about it.and than aca or today tonight.

Ian

Thanks mate, anyways I have just finished doing a comp test on it an it seems that cylinder 3 was lower on comp then the other cylinders, cylinder 3 read at 188 psi, while the rest of the cylinders were at 205psi,I noticed that cylinder 3 was inline with my crossmember exactly were I noticed the most knocking noise.

Hey guys,it looks like its time for me to put the car back in the garage and put a cover on her, motor is knocking louder and louder every time I drive it. Now I know the bottom end is rooted, what would you reckon the best thing for me to do, should I go and buy a fg f6 bottom end, I got quoted 2700 dollars for it. I will install it myself to safe some cash that's one option, or should I do a rebuild on my current motor, install spool rods, cp pistons, and all the other parts needed for the rebuild. Now one thing im not sure of is how much the build motor will set me back, has any one done something similar how much did it cost in parts?

thanks for all your replys guys an I really appreciate your input on this topic

thanks

mic

Built motor will cost anything from $5k in parts up to $14k...

Depends on how much power you want? If it's a 4 speed... Just go the FG F6 bottom end... You'll have to do a bit of modification to the sump I think... But the bottom end will hold more power than the 4 speed ever will (with a decent tune that is!)

Well I guess the fg f6 motor would be my best option, yea I thought that even if I rebuild the motor myself it would have been starting at the 5000 dollar mark, thanks Worm.

drop the car at the tuner, tell them what they have done to the car now, tell them that you will be back in a month to pick the car up when its all fixed, all covered by them of course.

This is bullsh*t, fair enough if it was a month or 2 after that the car started playing up, that could be a driver fault, but if you took your car in "modifying" condition, expecting decent power and a safe tune/car, drive out the door and the car is notably f*cked, that is not your fault.

You did the right thing by going back, giving them a few chances to fix the problems, which only seemed to get worse. That is BS, seriously dump the car there, make the pricks fix it, properly this time, threaten to take further action if they don't comply

It's like dropping your newborn in for heart surgery and the *beep* doctors f*ck it up... Through negligence... Not a lack of time or resources...

What do you do? You sue!!!
