Hi guys,I went today to get my car tuned,my car has a built btr 4 speed with a 3200 stallie ,big intercooler, valve springs, surgetank an 044 pump,4 inch dump pipe in to a 3 an a half inch exhaust all the way back, it got 306 kw at the wheels on 17 psi, I think the stallie drained some power, but im fine with that, I took the car for a drive an gave it hell, it span the wheels 1st gear an 2 gear, once it shifted to 3 gear it pinged of its head but no wheel spin,I stoped giving gas once it did ping,so I rang the tuner back up an told him,I then took the car back to the tuner,he took my xcal 2 flash box an just installed something to it,I then took off, tested the car,an then again it pinged in 3rd gear, the weather was cooler at the time as well, now an other strange thing happened,at night it cooled down heaps, I thought mabey try now an give it a run while the weather is cooler, see if it pings, but this time it didnt move at all,no wheel spin in 1st or second, funny thing is it went way harder in hotter weather, which is wierd to me,anyways I stopped driving the car, didnt want to do any damage since its a ba block, so what I want to know has any one had a similar problem, if so how did you get it fixed, did the car get back on the dyno? could this b a timing issue, or some temp senser problem? or is it tune related?

thanks

mic

Yea mate I thought that to, 17 psi for 307kw at wheels, resrictions an converter I guess.

Yea im for sure gona go back to the tuner,I know that sould have made more power, but im guessing that there a bit of restrictions on my set up, an example would be the 200cpi cat converter, the rear twin pipe x force muffler, an the big converter, but im happy with just 307kw at wheels, better an safer for my bottom end, I just spin out when it comes to getting this type of car tuned, does this usually occur to others, were they have to take there cars back more then two times because off pinging issues, I remember with my rotary turbos they would sit on the dynos for an hour, take them for a spin thrash it, with no issues at all.

Why is everyone so scared to name there tuner? They could be doing the dodge knowing that people won't step on anyones toes. IMO if you name them then it's more incentive for them to step up and get some decent figures.

Someone well known it sydney, but im sure he will sort it out, well I hope so,its the worst when you fill your tank up costing me $90 an drive an hour to get there twice, costing $16 in tolls, taking a day off work an now another day off, plus I have to re fill my tank again.
