I know f*ck all about fuels but I recall hearing that E85 burn like twice as quick as normal fuel. True or not true? Or was that race fuel?

I`ve done 250 or so on half and refilled. that's with several big bootfulls of throttle applied.

Computer was saying 450 or there abouts range on refilling.

that's good, I'll probly get around 250-290ks full tank ruffly on e85, kool thanks for the heads up john :)

I`m guessing you`d need a really loose converter, a huge amount of power, maybe no VCT and an accelerator pedal stuck to the floor to get 250 - 290 per tank. But let`s face it you can get through a lot of BP 98 if you really want too.

Couple other things, you can buy a tester gizmo ( 6Boost Kyle has one, I suspect he`s a gadjet person ) for a hundred bucks or so? As I said I have the beakers and big test tubes on hand and they cost 60 odd dollars each. I reckon the tester thing would be better value and less fvck arsing around.

Jamie tuned my car with pump E85.. Which means there`s a bit more timing in it but not as much as it could have if it had Sucrogen V8 Supercar E85 in it. My car had Bosch 42 lb injectors, it now has 6Boost hi flow injectors which seem awesome. best to contact 6Boost about those.

So it would be hoped that even if I bought some really slack arsed E85 there`s rnough margin for it in there and my knock sensors will even it out. My plan is to buy the fuel from the same place.

Which I somewhat pedantically did anyway with BP 98. But how I use my car allows me to do that. It`s not my daily.

Lol, just letting ya no. My convert is tight, most of the time I drive the car on weekdays and there's always traffic. the morning isn't too bad but afternoon/evening its killer(alot of stop start traffic, bumper to bumper on frankston dandy road at 5.30pm) .

So yeh I'm on my holiday break, no car, no misses, I'm on this forum most of the time with the iphone. Just waiting foe the fone call sayin "hey Jimmy, your cars ready come pic it up". I'm hoping Monday.

I`m not sure how the trip computer deals with the E85. Also they are none to accurate I don`t think although the one in my atmo BF ute seems pretty close.

lol at the moment here in SE QLD economy is easy as it will not stop pissing rain. But I will admit I do try to get good mileage when I do longer trips. I noticed my economy didn`t alter or perhaps got better on the M1 with my new tune and mods with petrol.

The way I see it on E85 its still no worse and in most cases better than an LS1 or similar V8 that has half the power using petrol.

My car has minimal mods really, and yet it has as much power as I will ever need. Using E85 has helped in that regard.

Slightly off topic, but I`ve been around this scene for a while and I have never ever heard a bad word about Mick @ Pitlane and he`s always answer any questions I`ve asked him via PM even though he knows I`m 1600 klm away and isn`t likely to get any business from me.

So what about that local sports team, eh?

I`m still over here, still running the E85. I still think it`s awesome.

Couple of interesting factors, I`ve got 400 kw under my foot and the turbo has never been removed from the car. it has a stronger actuator and that's all.

Is that a stock turbo? Is in my eyes.

I have the stock air cleaner in place with a K&N filter. I do have a custom stainless cross over and stock BOV. Nothing for the Five O to get excited about.

I have a custom Dump and cat into what is now considered a restrictive exhuast. It looks nice and sounds good to me so it stays there.. We all know what full stainless 2.5 twin exhausts cost I don`t plan on buying another one anytime soon.

I have a Nizpro cooler. Too be sure there are better coolers, way better, but it fits nice and again, isn`t a magnet.

Don`t plan on buying another cooler anytime soon either. The intank Walbro I already had, the Pro West surge I wanted anyway. The modified stock injectors ( not drilled ) were prefered by my tuner and quite inexpensive.

I personally don`t like LPG. Yes I have had the use of a car that was LPG it was cheap, but was a pain in the arse. To me.

Things have changed since then.

I have no illusions that my Typhoon will be a GTHO in 15 years or worth anything to anyone as some kind of speculators keep sake. But, I worked frickin` hard for it, I own the bastard and I`ll be fvcked if I`d cut into it for an LPG set up. I`m not knocking LPG or Methane or propane Elaine I can readily see the results chaps have had with it.

However, seriously, running E85 is as easy as sh!tting in bed by comparison.

If you`ve thought about it, and who hasn`t? Give it a bash.

it`s a real trip.

from what I've read I think it burns slower and cooler which is why you run more timing to get it started earlier. hopefully someone can confirm this.
