mrmackie Donating Members 67 Member For: 17y 3m 29d Gender: Male Location: Perth - CBD Posted 17/12/10 08:19 PM Share Posted 17/12/10 08:19 PM Im looking to fit a 12pnd actuator before babying the car to the tuners for a tune, but want to know if there is a trick to setting the actuator arm up, as it has an adjustable rod.Is it a matter of matching the length with the old actuator and arm I take out for correct throw length, or can you only get a correct setup of this arm when its installed so you can feel the resistance on the diaphram? unclewal Donating Members 583 Member For: 14y 3m 27d Posted 17/12/10 11:36 PM Share Posted 17/12/10 11:36 PM The arm length should be exactly the same, the throw of the actuator isn't changing, its just changing the pressure at which it actuates, the internal gate will only move the same distance. If you change the length of the actuator rod it may not close the internal gate all the way or it may not open it all the way.Hope this helps.
