Went for a re tune @ Daves and had no joy due to the studs being rooted. Won a local Dyno comp the other week but it went to 41psi due to new gaskets ect and damage has been done. Had a few issues with the Ute in the last few weeks like the Diff exploding and really wanting to get out of its housing, LOL and the head lifting on boost above 33psi with the T51r Garrett, SO....New Garrett Gtx4292r on the way. This thing should spool around the same as the T51r and have another 350hp, Boost it to 40psi on METH and lets see hey..... True Track Diff setup going in. Full engine rebuild. Its been pulled apart and cylinder 4 has some marks due to water getting in with the head lifting BUGGER !! Basic breif to the engine builder, Make it love 40+psi and have a good life span. Should be back on the road within a few weeks, will have to run it in then tune time of Mackay Mini Power Cruise on the 25th June. this driveway looks familiar haha...quite a few hp sitting in that driveway

Have to mod the dump and cut the air outlet of the turbo off due to it sitting about 3cms from the strut tower and then make up pipe work that fits this all together. We have to Tune it after all this and time has run out to rip into Mackay's Power Cruise this weekend, BUGGER !! Will not be tuning it for 6-7 weeks due to heading off for work Overseas. No brakes below 3000rpm due to the big cams and no brake boost pressure, booster pump installed and sorted.2. Thermo fan sh*t it's self so new 1's installed.3. Transmission - as been out 3 times with the bolts holding the adaptor plate, oil pump coming loose and dropping oil, opened up to max thread size with high tensal bolts which had been locktighted into place. Hope this is sorted !!4. Atomic motor was running really hot, have a massive pwr radiator with new larger water pump and a new 71deg thermostat which made no difference but for some reason today with 1800kms on the new dong the temps have drop to normal, all prior to adjusting any afr's. ?? May be just a run in faze..did read on this forum a guy with the same motor has these issues.5. Tuning with the 4+ cams has been a strong struggle due to throttle body failures and a hole heap of other general problems. New 1 installed and still have trouble, looking further into this.6. After putting the boot into it and then off throttle boost/power is held for 3-5 seconds and the Ute still powers up and along....maybe a bigger blowoff valve ???, this is only with around 24psi and up. Glad it hads 6 pot Brembos and 4's on the rear, LOL.7. The work involved with mounting up the new GTX42 has been lots, everything custom. This has been a realy big learning curve even after my last build on this Ute and others involved too. In my current frame of mine I would never do a build like this again due to the time involved, unknowens, costs, down time of the Ute and the small amount of stress,.I have been very lucky to have professional people to sort these issues, I just would of like to of knowen there was going to be sooooo many problems, spose we are all learning.I have to head back to Thailand for work soon for some time and am pushing like hell to get it sorted and have at least a little fun with it before pissing off.If anyone has any ideas to help speed up the FIX IT Process feel free to chip in, Cheers - Chad Edited 07/10/11 02:01 PM by blow off

The fact it is taking alot of time to sort is unavoidable, there are no short cuts at this level mate, we spent one whole week tuning just the idle to get it right with stage 5+ cams, glad to hear you installed a vacuum pump for the brakes this is also a must with large cams. Your throttle problems can be a mixture of things, a larger bov is required at thus level as well, are you controlling boost through the ford computer or externally? The other issue will become the balance of air speed and afr's on your idle, light throttle maps and transition tables from low to high, in our experience it is this section that requires a unique balance and compromise, unfortunately with the Ford ecu you cannot have perfection everywhere, eg. Perfect idle, perfect light throttle & perfect transitions full throttle. You have to find a balance down low, and this balance has a very small window of adjustments when running large cams.Hang in there bud the end result when the stage 4+ cams are sorted & tuned properly is well worth the effort.
