I am afraid that it wont work out and I am nervous also because I havent held a job in a long time due to my anxiety, I love the xr6 turbo and I want to buy one with the money I make from working. If someone is willing to give a few pointers on office politics, starting a new job and anything that might help please reply. I appreciate the help and I am once again happy to be here on the forums! been a ford man all my life! Drew.
Worm A much better forum Silver Donating Members 3,808 Member For: 16y 4m 20d Gender: Male Location: Victoria Posted 12/12/10 11:41 AM Share Posted 12/12/10 11:41 AM What's the job mate?Go see a doc... Explain it... And see if you can get a mild sedative to calm you for a few weeks... That should help you get into the groove and be relaxed!Office politics? When new, just don't look like an arrogant "I know it all" *beep*... Be willing to listen and only give ideas when asked... Prove yourself, then look at having input... The best people to start out are the quiet people who just work hard!Worm

Regarding the anxiety mate, go see a doctor its not that uncommon. Don't let it run your life and the sooner you get it fixed the sooner you can enjoy life. Trust me it's worth it, speaking from experience! Hope you get to buy a xr6t, they are definately alot of fun!

Just remember that you are there for a job, not for a social. Everyone will not be your friend, but always be nice.

Guest XR09 Guests Posted 13/12/10 04:55 AM Share Posted 13/12/10 04:55 AM (edited) Congrats on the new job mate.Anxiety sucks..big time. Definately go to your GP and talk to him about it. Be careful of Zanex. A lot of fun but a bad bandaid. 1/2 a 5mg Val will dull it a bit. SRS's are a long term thing. They work for some. You would be amazed at how many are on them....and who.You will make mistakes, that just happens in a new job. We all do. Don't beat yourself up about it and let the slagging go over your head if you cop some.Try not to let that voice saying F..ck it in your head take control. Don't try to rush it, just try to learn and make it as fun as you can. When your guts are churning, just breath and try to lower your heart rate. If you have the sweats just go to the loo and splash some water on your face and chill for a bit. learn to laugh at yourself. If it follows youhome then go for a good run, swim or surf. Your natural endorphins will chill you out in no time. The big difference between a bad day and a good one is attitude. Not saying you do.....but... reccie drugs are really bad for anxiety. Really really bad. Gunga being one of the worst. Pinga's are right up there too. Edited 13/12/10 04:55 AM by XR09
