This is cleary a very debatable topic. My view is that a forced induction 5 litre V8 has awesome potential, but I am not sure that supercharging really is the way, basically because it is parasitic in nature. That is, needs power to make power. But could this just be a prelude to introducting a twin turbo creature in future. My veiw is that Ford have embraced turbo technology, but they are a conservative global company that seeks to obtain both political and public approval. This is why we seen the phase 4 Gt phased out. However, the question remains whether the full Aluminium engine will withstand the rigors of the Australian environment with forced induction. The inline six engine is highly technical, and some have stated that it is a 40 year old engine, although I dont see it that way, I see it as 40 years of solid R&D. And if we look at the 2JZ Supra engine, which I might add has many similarities with the XR6t, such as VVT steel block alloy head 4 valves per cylinder, it is now producing 2000 hp and giving the triple rotors a caning. Therefore, the new engine in the GT,s doen't have 40 years R&D and I believe has potential durability issues. But in conclusion power can only result from energy, so should this debate really look into power produced based on energy used (petrol). As this is becoming an expensive exercise to run a car, and fuel prices are forecast to hit $2.00 a litre in the near future. So should we refocus this debate on efficiency. This would mean which engine makes X amount of power, maybe 400rwkw, and what is the real cost to make the power (in terms of fuel usage). Now if this could be done I believe (for me anyway) there is your winner. Cheers

Buy a yaris.

I'm sorry, but we're talking about 1.7 tonne Rear Wheel Drive vehicles. 4L i6 and 5L V8. If you want fuel efficiency to be a concern about what makes more power based on cost of running, then you'll have little hope in getting much feedback, because I for one didn't buy a GT 335 to watch my fuel efficiency.

I LOVE my 'dog' . For the first time in my life I actually enjoy driving to work, but more so when guys see the GT and have big sloppy grins on their faces and giving me the thumbs up :aaggl: , then giving them a thrill bordering on a orgasmic sexual release when I knock him back a cog and give him his head, the roar from the Manta system would make a eunich go hard fair dinkum. :turboboink:

But what really turns me on is when you scoot past a POS SS ute, stay in front of him on the speed limit then hit the freeway entry ramp, hit the curve back to 2nd (with said POS SS ute right up my backside) then.............. whooosh, roar, :3gears: G forces pushing you back in your seat, into 3rd, facial skin being squeezed past your ears, the veins in your eyes are about to burst, your wisdom teeth are exposed to daylight and the POS SS ute is a itsy bitsy little dot in your rear view mirror.

THAT my friends is what owning a 335 FG GT is all about, who gives a toss about 12.2365489 seconds V's 12.3681697 seconds and other dick measuring exercises at the drag strip, I bought the whole package and I am very, very pleased with the purchase and can see myself enjoying everything about this car for quite a long time.

Fire away girls!!

I think all the "orgasmic" thrill is in your own mind mate - its just a car.....lol

Maybe the SS drivers (which have a better looking car) are staring at you because they feel sorry that you are driving a car with tacky stickers...... :rap:

I like the GT to drive and love the sound for sure, but the cheap and nasty bits (for 70k) really let it down. F6 a far superior package for the money.

Geezus.....choked on me cornflakes I did... :puke:

Each to their own mate, I'm of the old school of V8's, and to have a blown V8 is just....sweet!!

LOL. As I said Redhawk, I love the sound/response of the V8 too being an old-school fan.

But sorry mate, I do think some of the HSVs (not so much the most recent ones) do look better than the GTs (and many other people do also). But if you like it that's all that counts mate! At the end of the day, whether GT, F6, G6T, XRT whatever, all brilliant value for money cars so we are splitting hairs!

I think fords gonna loose the v8 vs turbo fight for everyone if they dont bring out a larger v8 soon 5L supercharged is only just better than 4L turbo if u ask me a turbo 6 should be a step down in proformance from the top of the line superchaged v8 . whats the point of the cars if u buy a f6 spend 5k making it much faster than the gt and still 10,000 cheaper. im sure the gt with 5k spent would probly be faster than the f6 but not by enough if u ask me

Me thinks if we had the keys to both on a table 99% of the time you would pick up the GT's.

So yes it comes back to the buck.

The GT is a V8, I love V8's and their soundtrack. Really not sure what the 70kg extra does to handling. It's more but lower, apparently. It would have less mass in front of the front axle. And that's a good thing.

The T6 is like the cheeky little brother who always made the state team. Yep he is the younger bro, but you better be careful he can give you a good run anytime you like.

So the older brother get will get jealous and abused drugs and alcohol and be expensive to run as well as buy in.

So the T6 is the little brat. The agitator. It's that good on the road it makes it tough to pay the extra for a GT. I don't think there has ever been another Ford in history like that.

Even the XY. You could get a 4V Fairmont. Not even close.

mmm You wonder if it would be a decent financial move to put an original BAT in the shed.
