I think theres an argument for both sides but out of the box,I think there both a close match.Putting the purchase price aside of the 2 cars,it comes down to what you like and I for one could justify the $70+k for a GT as it responds well to a tune only with huge power capability. :buttrock:

this is going to go on forever, its almost as bad as manual or auto?

some like turbo 6's and others like v8's, maybe we should band together and feel sorry for the poor bastards that are into rotary's :roflmbo:

Will love to be down at Calder park when someone actually drags the new Coyote (they may have already done it but I havent seen one yet) the sound of the charger up close will be great.

I love this thread.

We are debating a i6Turbo vs Blown 8 and the funny thing is there is no right answer.

Just think of it like this. Both engines are the bast 2 in Australia and we are lucky they are both in Fords.

We are spoilt for choice and I will be upgrading to either a F6E or another GT-E in 12 months when my car comes out of lease.

I just hope the series 2 is out by then as I would not upgrade unless HID and LEDs are there for the lighting.

Yes and no it's about money.

You can't make a lump of old cast iron go faster than it can hold together.

You can throw every dollar possible at the ford I6 and it won't stay together.

For it to even have a chance it would need to be made and designed like a 2jz.

Steel crank short stroke.

Rotating mass and piston speed have a lot to do with a engine being able to survive.

All out potential is not limited by money but by design.

Cranny I could never see that monster i6 ever being able to out accelerate a coyote powered vehicle little though fit in a car.

As said earlier in my posts, i6 long stroke is a orsm low rev tow/hual engine and yes a v8 can't compete as well those monster diesels do. And could you imagine a haul train with a bank protruding out each sides with a set of manifolds and all.

Every engine has it's design benifits.

You will find why The I6 Ford gas been around so long is because it makes low down power meaning less throttle percentage meaning good fuel Eco.

Great for taxis and everyday commuting.

As far as im aware Ford have never backed it in motor sport prior to the drift car because it was never designed to be revved.

They backed the drift car and built it to make low revving power with selection of a small frame turbo not like the monster turbos you see on the Skylines which nearly

double the revs of a stand i6.

You want outright reliable maximum performance the Coyote would be the choice.

You want to tow a 20ft boat around and get good eco the I6 would be better.

Ands thanks Cranny on the comment, it gas been a good debate albeit the rude uneducated smugness of some.

I love high performance cars and building engines that go hard. the BA has made me very happy bar the failures. It is exceptional but for what I want out of it the Coyote would be so much better, I would have one in a heartbeat if fives permitted.

And yes the I6 would go. With many good memories of toasting some very tuff cars, one being a vz clubbie with twin GT32's and yes we both talked and exchanged mods, he couldnt get over the low boost I was running with mild setup and internally standard engine bar the nizpro valve springs. He was amazed, good he doesn't know my rod let go a few weeks after.

A little birdy told me that the Flacon will be getting a new issolated rear end in 2012. That will make the GTE world class with the V8

For mine 350rwkillerwasps is about all this chassis can handle if there is a bend in the road. Then again about all any road car can put down with the state of our roads.

The Coyote is the ducks guts. But too tune one would mean the lifespan of the ZF is going to be drastically reduced. Not sure the manual will fare any better. Everything behind that will all have to be replaced before you leave the drive. And we just dont have enough people here YET that can do a proper job rebuilding the ZF for the right cost.

Bang for your bucks and this 6 wins. To a point. If you want more than 350kw...open your wallet and sell the kids. The Coyote just caught the road runner.

for those who are scare mongering about mods and leases, Novated or otherwise, what a load of bollocks.

It is the same warranty deal regardless. You play you pay. That said a good accountant can take care of

additional maintenance :innocent:

Step into it, I have modded all my leased cars, as long as you can afford the pay out or

a new lease they don't give a fark

Having purchased a new f6 last month I can honestly day I struggled to decide between the two.. They felt much the same, the Gt was much tackier though with cheap stickers and crap wheels. Ignoring that it may be a better car but for the 22 thousand dollars more that the dealer wanted it wasn't worth it to me.

I'll spend 10 more on the F6 this year and I think I will enjoy it more than the stock gt and I'll still be 12 grand better off.

Also there is a much better market for tuning the i6 at the moment. I'm sure in a few years the gt will be great but right now it's too pricey.

Of course a cleen sheet design like the Coyote with an extra litre and 2 more cylinders should beat a I6 that roots go back to a 60s small six and the very first falcons.

But this Miami is no Coyote and one must remember that this engine was primarily designed by Pro Drive and not Ford. That would be like Nizpro designing the F6 ( prob GT51R outta the Factory :3gears: )

Even so the F6 pulls away from the corners and the GT out brakes the F6, very strange.

Scotty

suggest the f6 waits on the corner exit for the gt to catch up , then shows it a woosh...........................

I read through most of this thread and TBH I tuned out for a while with the talk about Nascrap and the hillbilly perspective.... however, both cars are utterly awesome and I would own either without being disappointed in my choice.

I really don’t think there is a "better" car between the two in general, only better for someone’s needs and taste.... oh and fanboyism :innocent:
