There were TWO STOCK GTs at the XR6XR8 Club dyno day at Realdyno Performanceon Saturday which you attended Mark. You must of left early mate? They both ran about the same amount of Horseys. The first one was Shanes (President of the XR6XR8 Club) with a467.6 and then Cols which ran a 465.4 both stock. Heres a photo of the whiteboard from the day. I see you made a run of463.2 Marky, were you expecting more? Edited 31/10/11 07:02 AM by Luke............... Picture removed due too personel information displayed. Didn't think the GS and GT were that much different. Still think I'd go the GS myself - better value IMO.

Can't believe you didn't plug in the race tune. Did the prizes suck or did they pay you off so an I6 didn't take home the chocolates, lol. I underestimated you mate - that's farking funny. Dillz Three pedals are better then two.. See below a comparison between an FG F6 and GS with very similar power (hope Lee from RDP doesn't mind me using the pic..) .. Notice the big difference in Torque... This is why S/T fords will always need a lot more power than the 6T to do the same time down the quarter...In stock form I dare say the I6 would probably still have more torque then the stock 5.0, good news is the V8 fanboys will always think 'Supercharged V8 means better then everything' and continue to get owned by the boosted six.Until they stop making them that is.. CBXRT Banned 643 Member For: 14y 3m 4d Gender: Male Posted 01/11/11 01:51 AM Share Posted 01/11/11 01:51 AM (edited) Agreed. Turbo'd cars are still banned from the "Supercar" series for that very reason - V8s simply aren't competitive against tuned turbocharged cars and the series would be ruined again as Expensive Daewoo don't have a similar vehicle (as happened when Sierra's and Skylines dominated).Superchargers are arguably redundant technology these days - still, its a buying angle for customers and gives them something to suggest their car is different/unique (rather than better). Guest XR09 Guests Posted 01/11/11 02:04 AM Share Posted 01/11/11 02:04 AM It's so confusing.Ok a mate has a 40ft game boat. It has two very big diesels... think about 550 per side. And they have both a supercharger and a turbo charger. He says the super C is for low rpm and the turbo takes over from a whopping 1500rpm.I think the 6 is a torque motor and I know they can make 1000 torques...While the 8 can make torque in huge numbers...HP is where it shines. Never had any say Panda I <3 Floods Silver Donating Members 11,198 Member For: 13y 6m 26d Gender: Male Location: South West QLD Posted 02/11/11 06:55 AM Share Posted 02/11/11 06:55 AM It's not really all about Torque or HP.. Bigger isn't always better.. I welcome anyone's correction to this:Superchargers are belt driven.. Turbo's are witchcraft and exhaust gases.. Superchargers need power to make more power.. Turbo's need RPM to deliver power, but higher then a supercharger (generally). The T's are a 4.0L engine.. Which is pretty frikkin big.. So the argument that superchargers are better because they don't have 'turbo lag' is virtually non-existent because these engines have sufficient pulling power for the size of the car before boost comes on. Turbo's will generally produce higher torque then superchargers.. Why? Torque (N/m) is force.. Force is how hard the power is hitting.. Turbo's hit alot harder then superchargers do.. Superchargers are more constant.. Turbo's are quite literally "All or nothing".I read a statement once that said "Torque and Grip wins drag races".. Now I'm not familiar with alot of superchargers on the drag racing circuit but I seem to hear about alot of turbos.. Again correct me if I'm wrong. In saying all this.. Once the cars aren't stock anymore and it becomes tuners territory.. It's anyones game.
