Supercharger is progressive in power delivery so runs harder the the revs raise. But one thing you can't discredit is displacement will win if both engines are equal on efficiency. Both engines like to rev albiet the i6 only safe to 6500 due to oil pump design and mainly crank balance and length. The GT and GS suppose to have steel crank and forged rods standard. The i6 has been superseded. I'm sad and wish it hadn't as I to am owner of a i6. Cranny if you buy a f6 over a GT I pity you as you will regret not going with the GT or even a GS. If want a very quick I6 lots spent buy me the GT I will swap you. GT / GS = 5.0l steel crank, forged rods F6 = 4.0l cast long flexing crank, plastic rodsAlso you make mention of the 80-120 yes right in the meat of the low down turbo rush. Try 6th gear 60k and I bet the the F6 gets flogged.

Not sure why the mags bother to time the cars past 4th gear? Unless you're on a track and it's a long straight I guess. But even then you'll be going like the clappers by the time 5th comes around, probably 220+! Edited 11/12/10 03:44 PM by -SteveR-

Could not bother changing back to 2nd to waste my tyres or fuel. Was only making a statement on drivability of the sc v8 compared to t6. Turbo lag! Guest XR09 Guests Posted 11/12/10 11:30 PM Share Posted 11/12/10 11:30 PM No no. The GT is the new king. And I cant wait for people to start tuning them. And reaching incredible power and noise and every one wanting one. Then me and my 6 can go back to sneaking under the radar again. The I6 was always the greatest Qship. The GTE might take that crown. But I could not live with fake wood grain and gay wheels.

Yes some less than most have achieved them to make big power. All the oem internal i6 that are making big power are on a timer. The ones that last longer than some are usually the Sunday drivesOr the ones miss daisy putts around in till the next dyno day. The oem i6 is not a very strong bottom end. The Coyote is strong. Even mine broke a rod which may have been due to small cast air pocket right in centreOf beam just above big end. Problem cast not forged.

Supercharger is progressive in power delivery so runs harder the the revs raiseIt is just the opposite, Mate.Turbos' are way better at higher RPM (remember, rule of thumb, turbo output pressure quadruples with doubling in speed), and blowers, being positive displacement pumps, are better (immediate) torque deliver off the bat.I would expect a turbo 6, at around 16psi boost, to kill the V8 at around 10psi boost on top-end. Total engine capacities should be the same, but turbo engine will deliver more torque simply due to higher adiabatic efficiency.Or something such.I would expect the V8 engine to be stronger off the line, and, all else equal, should be the quicker car down the 1/4 - while the turbo 6 stronger at top-end.If we consider identical rwkw's, that is.Luv the new V8, and would like to one day slot twin turbos on one -- then no T6 will get close
cranny Donating Members 123 Member For: 16y 8m 3d Gender: Male Location: Sydney NSW Posted 12/12/10 01:43 PM Author Share Posted 12/12/10 01:43 PM how can people start making claims that the Gt has stronger motor without ever driving one let alone tuning it upwards of 400 Rwkw. this motor is still new in the states and they haven't really proven its reliability yet. the I6 has a proven track record of making awesome power fairly reliably. not to mention how many spare parts that are available. as I have said before not one GT has blown me away yet. I have driven one (wasn't impressed) and nobody has on this forum or any other forum has smashed the 1/4. and to top it off, all of the Crappy magazines inculding the drive review favour the Crumodoore. as said by jeremy Clarkson some cars are best left as a pipedream or a poster on the wall. I am sorry GT I am not sold yet Bring on the almighty F6.
