Hey everyone!

so after watching a couple of vids on youtube, found this one (think its a forum member here :) and was really interested in his launch control system for manual!

does anybody know of this system or something similar and how it is installed? I think it would be perfect for a manual to spool up boost before take off to reduce lag!

heres the vid

not sure about the BA but the FG manuals hold the revs at the same point when you rev the car with your clutch in.

some people call it launch control or launch assist, all it really is is antilag for the turbo because the engine is free revving and isnt under load.

I have a launch control setup working from the factory PCM. I have a rpm limit set @3500, this gives me aprox 3 psi of boost. This is with a stock cat and dump and no cam or ignition timing changes.(car has niapro plenum/cooler and pipe work tho) If I then load then engine up on the clutch I can produce up to 9psi before the car moves.

The Limit is ground speed driven meaning it is lifted once the car reaches a set ground speed. Mine is set at 38kmh which is the calculated crossover point. What i mean buy this, when in 1st gear @3500 my car is travelling at 38KMH.

Its a balancing act between wheel spin and acceleration but its alot easier than trying too launch normally. The launch rpm needs to be finesed to suit each cars engine/exhaust/turbo/tires but so far its working quite well.

Because the limiter used is a fuel cut, the Throttle blade remains fully open so they turbo spools up and stays spinning.

You need to make a couple of small wiring mods to the car, basically you need to provide an earth for the reverse lock out solenoisd and then feed it power from the brake lamp switch when the brake is applied so you can engage reverse

Its my pet project at the moment :)

Its a secret :secret::spit:

Its pretty easy too setup but would be costly if you dont do you owne tuning as it takes many many tweaks and reflashes to get it right..

It would also eat a stock clutch in .00005 of a second. So far (I hope mal doesnt read this) My MWA Opt4 is holding up pretty well and preforming flawlessly.

4.2psi@ 3500 rpm stationary in garage :msm: just got too see what effect the cam and ign changes make too the drivability. In the middle of getting some tables added too HPT too cover spark and lamba when the limiter is working only so it won't effect drivability

Edit: tuning fail launches are awesome but retarded cam and ign timing kills drivabilty. can still make 3psi with no cam/ign timing changes so will stick with that :)

Probably was me asking approx 18-24 months ago.

Every time I set it it would work but I could not get it to

Shut down the limiter once over the set speed.

I may have troubles as mine was originally t5 and I changed it to t56.

My reverse lockout is wired into the brake switch.

I would still like to know what I need to get to function correctly.

My cars been of the road now for over 12 months because

Of a bad oil leak from sump, big hole under where number 6 Conrod once lived.

It would be great to sort this for once I get my car back on road.
