My aim is to put the ute into the 10sec bracket on a highflowed .7 comp covered 35/40 turbo and I want as close to 450rwkw

and an extremely aggressive tune as I can get, martin donnan of willall racing will be tuning it. the car has the nizpro

plenum and ic kit, 4inch dump and 4inch nizpro zaust etc, im just wondering if the fg bottem end is the right donk for the job without having to put rods in. im not fussed if I have to, just wanted to know what ppl's thoughts were.

Go for it MT tuned FG F6 did a 10.9 first run out with 420ish rwkw's!!

*Beep* its a ute too :spoton:

*Beep* you make me lol.

adrian, you should be fine on stock fg f6 bottom end. mine had done 60,000 on stock motor with +400rwkw most of its life, with 25,000 of that with +450rwkw all on pump fuel, so you should piss it in on e85. I did have a small head gasket leak and a nice tax return so I decided to put rods and pistons in at the same time.

You should be fine mate, id push her all the way to 470 as its in safe hands.

I havnt had a hiccup (touch wood) with mine being at 470 for the past 6 months.

Have a second safer tune as well for daily driving. We have 470 from BP98 and will aim to get over 500 on E85 or E90.

Good luck. :beerchug:

They are exactly the same BF - FG rods...

Here is a pic of a set of FG F6 rods that I removed from the FG F6 short motor I bought, they were exactly the same as the BF rods we removed from my BF F6 motor. You can see they are quite skinny in comparrison to a set of H beam forged rods.

so you have a bf with an fg motor. Did you blow the 1st motor? Now your wanting to push the fg block to the limits and possibly chance of blowing that to?

Seems like your made of money. Change the rods. If you have a manual, grab a set of billet oil bump gears too. Else boom again. But if your chasing 10's in a ute with 450rwkw im guessing you have a zf box as we have all seen how hard it is to make a manual into the 10s in a sedan let alone a ute.

lol wtf?

sinse when did I blow up an engine?

I bought this ute from charlie and the ute already had a 310 motor in it because he put the motor from the ute in shyxr....

my last tornado had rods and had a wikkid agressive tune. but I more just wanted to see what this can push...
