hi guys,

currently in the market for a FG turbo and I cant decide if I want the auto or manual. Ive driven both and I like both of them equally. I do a fair bit of driving and while I dont mind manuals, auto when your lazy is great.

Ive had a fair few performance cars and in the past auto+drivers engagement in a sports car did not go hand in hand.

id like to hear from manual and auto owners = pros and cons.

cheers

Kim

Go the manual, clutch will fry before the box will give out and be cheaper to fix than if you cook the ZF. I have the FG ute in manual and would love the auto fro traffic runs but manual is the choice for performance from a cost side of things when you break things, not if you break things.

City driving auto. Hwy and country driving Manual

I would have bought an auto if I lived in the burbs but where I am there is bugger all stop-starting so manual works for me

I'm going auto this time for sure, manual would be great for country drives or track use but you just can't go past the ZF for everything else. That and it can go to 400 without being touched where as the manual will need a clutch upgrade well before that.

if you want 0-100 then the zf cos it shifts really fast and my sh*tty shifting is bound to be slower, the zf is an amazing gearbox on the t when I drove it and apparently uses less fuel

I personally, however, have always preferred manuals. and nowsadays it seems manuals are getting rarer too

I have a manual fg t, the gearbox is definitely not a precision piece but it's a lot of fun

works but frys your clutch, I did it one time and all I could smell was clutch.. my foot was off the clutch but it was still engaged, car was releasing it slowly .

unless it just got stuck ? havent tried it since.
