Hi Guys,

Who's changed a there tps sensor lately? I purchased a new sensor from my local ford dealer, a Motorcraft DY1164. Fitted the sensot and the car dropped straight into gaurd mode and started throwing ETC related codes.

From my research it appears the part I need is a DY1116 but ford (and coventries) are saying the part is now a DY1164

anybody run across this problem?

NB: Part number DY1116 has been superceded by Part number DY1164

Also, Maybe try this: ????

"Disconnect battery .. Earth -, leave it for say 10 Min. Reconnect Battery. Turn on Ignition but do not start. Push down Acc to the floor and count to 15. Take your foot off the pedal turn ignition off... start engine and see how you go.

The above will reset the Acc system."

thanks mate but the procedure you have descrided resets the cam phasers not the tps. The ETC control system does a self test everytime its powered up. There is not manual reset/calibration for it

Well im farked if i know, returned the Dy1164 sensor too ford for a replacement. Fitted "new" new sensor hoping the old unit was faulty. The Old sensor provides a two variable resistance readings, 1 increases 1 decreases (as expected.)

The new sensor does not provide a variable resistance, when logging the Voltage output it does not increase/decrease smoothly the voltage (both high and low) stays stable and then te high range drops to .7v and the high range jumps to 4.2v.

these values are correct but the PCM is looking for the steady varibale voltage. The part is even labelled as a carb/throttle switch??

Surely somebody else has come across this issue?? :buttonit:

I finally got around to replace my DY1164 TPS. Did it last Wednesday.

Very easy to do - took me about 20 mins. All working well and got it for $95! Fraud wanted $170 or so...

Anyone needing a new one? $95 + freight. PM me if you're interested...
