If anyone saw it, I bought the red bf typhoon on ebay for 25k with 57kms on it. Sounds like a bargain right? Well he didnt tell me is was ex chaser, so I had to screw him and back out, but that's a fairly important thing to disclose amiright? Fair enough I should have done the $30 revs check before I won it, but still (revs said originaly fleet owned and had different plates, so alarms rang in my head). When I asked about he was like, 'what difference does it make?' So if anyone wants an exchaser bf typhoon for $25k (which is probably still a fair price), I know a guy.

Can't see the problem, except 25K is to much. Just bought a 2009 FG Chaser for 31K. Same k's. Probably better performance than a Bf Typhoon, still got 2 years mans' warranty. Full service, new tires, Typhoon brakes and suspension.

hmmm I already knew it was a chaser, although I dont really see why it would matter? they are always serviced on time, and if your lucky it hasn't jumped a median strip. not hard to ask for underneath photo's.

You dont think its something that should be disclosed when your buying?

Granted alot of people end up with the good ones and are happy, where older blokes, sargeants etc. drive them and couldnt be happier, I just havn't come across one of these yet, all the ones I see look sh*te. Two major things have turned me off buying ex police from being good mates with a nsw hwy officer. Serviced regularly? Its a myth, their cars are regularly overdue for service cause noone could be arsed to sort it out... Also, he told me he would never touch one with a 10ft pole

id want to know if it was an exchaser for sure. They get thrashed more then a p plater with a single pegger commodore! But even that p plater would semi look after the car. Cops dont give 2 craps if they jump islands, run through trees, etc etc. Its not their car. Its just a toy they have been handed to kick the sh*t out off

I also have a mate who is ex hwy patrol, and he told me not to get one.

just ask yourself this: would you turn the key and spin it to limiter straight away? well that's the life the car would have had (not necessarily everyday though)

I think 25 for a BF Typhoon is better than 31 for a FG XR6T but that's a personal choice.

Just cause something is newer dosent make it more desirable or better in every case.

A BF Typhoon will Probably hold its value better than a FG XR6T but only time will tell on that one.

As far as the Typhoon goes did you look at the car in person before bidding?

I used to work in a Expensive Daewoo dealership and we used to look after the TOG (TMU these days) cars, A normal Late model camira had 10,000 klm service intervals, but the TOG cars were serviced every 5000 klms. They were also checked and serviced after every pursuit they were involved in. They would be taken out of action if they were due for inspection or due for service.

The tyres were replaced long before getting anywhere worn out, their brakes were replaced well above rwc limits, if there was something wrong mechanically, it would be fixed immediately unless the car was taken out of service.

These cars were maintained better than most cars.
