mate no point in getting a ported head if your not chasing numbers a,stock head will make 1000hp no prob just replace the valves that were bent. From ford I think the intakes are $12 each and exhaust turbo ones are $25 plus gst and get it serviced will cost u no more than 500 buck with gaskets, would be good to do a set of springs whilst its out so add another 300 odd dollars but make sure a piston crown hasnt let go and has touched the valve or anything else sinister that has been mentioned above for the chain jumping, a tooth, either a broken sprocket or tensioner failure a siezed vct phaser will cause it to foul plugs and run rough and pop and do silly things. Must find the problem in order to rectify it . how much timing is your thing running on full advance These motors dont like to much timing 12 deg tops on full advance with pump fuel tops with 20psi. Did u notice any pinging? had my car tuned I wont say where and costed me a motor went and got vcm suite read the map and was on 20 deg advance that's death im no tuner but a mechanic for many years ... I now tune my own ...Just remember there are no professionals in this world and no one knows everything but there are alot of tossers that think they know everything

My FG just started to have a knock/hammering noise that rose with the revs!

I have been told it more than likley a timing chain tensioner or guide that has gone but I'm unsure!

I did find 3 melted plugs from detonation though, did comp test 1200 in each so nothing to scary there!

Maybe a peice of spark plug went into the valve seat or something!

Just this weird knocking and NO ITS DEF NOT A FLEX PLATE...

Hmmm doing my head in a little!
