Hi guys,

Just having a recurring issue with my turbo oil feed weeping out of the turbo housing inlet fitting.

I had it apart when I replaced the mesh filter 7500k ago and it resealed no prob. After a while I could smell burning oil. I replaced the sealing washers but found this only worked for a few days before the smell comes back.

Do these bolts stretch or anything or in general I <3 Bananas up and continually work their way loose, or can the pipe fitting crush with overtightening? I'm going to try a new bolt and washers.

Can anyone suggest a suitable sealant that I can use when reassembling pipe and banjo bolt that won't cook once the turbo heats up..

as suggested anneal the washers, if you dont have a heating torch you can use a gas stove top gas rig. Heat them until they change to a dull copper colour (the flame will get a slight green tinge to it)

I would also recommend getting a piece of wet and dry and a tile or sheet of glass and resurface the washer. Small imperfections can cause leaks so it pays too face them

Good tips guys,

Sorry to hijack the thread mate...

Got an issue with my Earls line filter, where I can unscrew one end, but can't unscrew the other end where the washer is leaking from.

Anyone got any tips?

Also, where do you guys get your replacement washers from?

Use a pair of multi grip with a cloth so you dont damage the holder to much, adjust to suit and try to get the clamp rate right with your hand. that's the only way I can think of and will be the way I will be removing mine if I have the problem!
