get a stamp made up............I'm lucky have a good mate who owns a workshop...The rubber stamp should only cost you no more then $20.....not bad for peace of mind............

Firstly, that's fraud.

Secondly, the dealership would always look up the cars service history on their system. They won't just go by what the log book says.

Had the same issue with my last service as I've always changed the oil myself in between the schedule and just before I take it in for the logbook service. In the past it was never an issue, they just stamped the book and wrote "excl oil" under the stamp.

I contacted Ford CRC in regards to this and have it in writing that it doesn't void warranty as long as I keep a record of when the oil was changed, the oil and the filter type. And if it come to a court case over a warranty claim then you'd be in a favorable position given that you're going above and beyond the scheduled requirements by changing the oil and filter twice as often as necessary.

I can see why they are taking a stand on it, but am still not at all convinced it's more than a grab at milking more money out of you in terms of inflated labour prices and consumables at twice the price of what it costs anyone else. I.e. cheaper to buy a genuine filter from spare parts than to include it in your servicing is a classic example.
