To put it simply, what's the most number of k's you've seen on an XR6T prior to it's first tuning-involved mods... Eg flashing, flash and exhaust etc.

I dont think there is a set rule, but its probably good to get some k's on a new engine, but from what ive heard these engines are run in at the factory.

Either way might be good to start modding after 10,000ks or first service.

I don't think he means how long should he wait, but more like how late has someone started modding...

I haven't really seen anything to crazy, a mate bought an xr6t that had about 90,000 on it and has modded it since then

Cheers Brods and ozking, that's what I'm after.

My BA MkI has 130k's and was I planning to go on the sub 300rwkw power route; full history, drives really well.

I got mine tuned at 88k kms. Produced 218rwkw stock and 265rwkw with the tune and nothing else - guess the engine is well and truly run in and freed up...

Mate the km's are only an indication. Cab motors are the best even though they have done thousands of km's, it's the way that they heat cycle which is ideal and hence why they seldomly blow an engine. So depends on how the vehicle has done its' km's.
