I have to wire up the surge tank this arvo and have been told it's the pink wire coming from the fuse/relay panel. Which one?, there's millions. One is in front of the rest and looks a lot thicker, I'm hoping it's this one. I'm a fitter and turner so unless it's red, white, blue or red, black, green I'm proper lost. I have the wiring scematic and can read that but it doesn't tell me which wire is which.

I want to run off the fuel pump relay so it is connected to the inertia switch.

Use a test light. Connect the lead to the positive of the battery and then use it to find the wire. Have a look under the cover and it tells you which one is the fuel pump relay. There will be four wires going to it. One is a fused +ve power supply, the other is a +ve ignition supply, one goes out to your fuel pump and the one your looking for is a switched -ve from the ecu. If you use your test light on it and have someone turn the ign on/off you will find that the light will come on for a few seconds as the pump primes and then turns off. If you start and run the vehicle the light will stay on if you have the right wire.

Hope I dont confuse the situation but..... If you want the inertia switch to cut your in tank pump and your surge pump, you will need to tap into the wiring after the inertia switch, which is way after the relay. I tapped my surge pump relay, trigger wire,in after the inertia switch, which is located behind the L/H kickpanel. The wire I tapped into goes from the inertia switch to the intank pump. Tapping it in up at the main fuel pump relay wont do jack to your surge pump,if the inertia switch trips in a stack etc. The surge pump will keep pumping away till the surge tank is empty.

Thanks guys,

Spoolxr6 - got a leccy mate to do just that nad it was the wire I thought

ebxmple - thought about that but I figure if I have a big enough stack to trip the inertia switch it would be the last of my worries.

Pics of wiring install to come soonish, put in a 2nd relay and fuse and will try to make an install guide for people like me.

I placed my relay with the surge tank itself, nice short earth (4in) for relay and pump and nice short positive with fuse to the starter motor. Only long wire then was the trigger to the Pink one.

I'm sure I took photos but cant fcking find them!
