Gary is assisting so please be patient as I confirm details.DESCRIPTION: This cruise heads east from Melbourne for 4 lots of nice bendys around St Andrews/Kinglake, Toolangi, Black Spur and Yarra Ranges. Nice and close to Melbourne too. Lunch may be at Healsville, or we may have a BBQ. Details to follow.Stay tuned to this first post as I will add to it as more details come to hand.Meet PointDiamond Creek McDonalds for a 10:30 am departure (Melways Map 12 A6)There is a Shell and Caltex near the meet point if you need to fill up before departure.ROUTE MAPSBig Picture RouteThese are all sealed roads and in good condition. Depending on the weather the previous week or so, there may be bark and leaf litter on the roads. Some areas have been burnt out by the Black Saturday fires and with any densly forested area, there is always the chance of fallen or falling trees.TerrainMeet Point - McDonalds Diamond CreekFirst set of bendys St Andrews / KinglakeNear St Andrews Vid and Photo OppSecond set of bendys ToolangiHealesville - Third set of bendys Black SpurMarysvilleQuick side trip up Lake Mountain - incredibly twisty. Late 'ish lunch at the top of Lake Mountain. Kiosk/Bistro will be open. Obey all laws whilst on the cruise; this means no speeding, no overtaking over double lines (no matter how safe you think it may be), etc...2. There is a designated cruise leader who will lead the way and set the correct pace for all cruise members.3. Use the Buddy system - always make sure you can see the car behind you. This will give people behind you an indication on where to turn to make sure nobody gets lost.4. CB Radios - if you don't have one, follow the maps and directions given out. It is highly recommended to have CB as it enhances the enjoyment of the cruise being able to hear about road hazards and join in on the social chatter.5. Please turn up to the meeting points with a sufficient fuel in your tank and enough time before the departure time.6. Onus is on the owner/driver to ensure their vehicle is safe to drive on public roads and meets State road traffic authority laws.7. Please ensure you have a contingency plan if you have a breakdown or unnecessarily delayed. e.g. Roadside Assistance or a mate in another car who is willing to stay with you if necessary.8. If I pass muster it takes the load of Gary and the other CCs and we may see some more cruises next year (I am hoping). So come along guys and girls. Its great fun. Be a part of Ruds first cruise.
