I have a chance to buy a 07 BF II vixon red 98,000km, full service history (ex-lease car), full lux pack for NZ$25k but mostly likely NZ$21k. I have looked around and the price of falcons varies soooo much. Firstly does this price seem good? To me $21k would be best obviously however the car is very tidy. Also is there anything I should be looking out for on this model?? I plan to pretty much mod it straight away as I already have the parts to do it. So I need not worry about the high km's on it since Ill be modifying it??? I see the BF II as the last brilliant model of the "B" series before they changed into FG, so presuming that surely it has to be the best "B series car (one to hold onto).

So that would be like 3k Aus yeah? stirthepot.gif

But seriously, sounds cheap though but I would be MORE worried about the high kays when modifying it. Unless your replacing all the suspension, brakes, diff and the likes.

nah more like $3.00... sure, it does have high km's, but that tells me since its a ex lease car that it was run on long distance sales calls etc. I mean its only an 2007...but I still see what ya mean, I would only seek a car with km's between 50,000km and 90,000km if I had a choice...Anything below means the budgets blown which the boss wont like... mods are : exhaust, PW cooler and air intake kit, 60lbs injectors and tranny cooler

You're keen as mustard getting mods together without a car! Good work :)

Maybe pay for a qualified inspection (RAC or equivalent) due to the high km's.

I've done over 100,000 now, bought it with 37,000k's in August 2008, still goes sweet as (modded in September) but I DID have the turbo replaced under the last of the new car warranty, it wasn't dead but was starting to grind, my tuner diagnosed it and Ford agreed. Those oil feed lines to the turbo are problematic.

Oh I noticed you have a transmission cooler - I've heard the ZF auto doesn't like extra coolers so that would be worth investigating if you are looking for an auto.

As said less kms the better really, unless you're replacing internals etc as well which would cost a packet.

Sounds like a decent buy though, just ensure it's been looked after (right oils, service times etc.)

Good luck.

Ah that makes more sense then. I spooked this forum for a long time and it made me decide to get a BFII first time around. Cost more back then but it's paid off so far! Good luck with your purchase mate.

Better off getting a BF2 with 99kms and $21k than a BA2 with 120kms and $17k...

Stronger rods, valve springs etc... And if it's been serviced correctly, 100kms is only just running the engine in!

So what if you have to buy a new turbo sooner than later! Get something bigger! ;-)

Yeah well if its ex lease then obviously it has been serviced when its been due for one. Otherwise that breaks the contract rules ;) unlike if the average joe owns it then he can get it serviced at a later date..which is bad..only a non-ford lover would do that of course :spoton: I did think about importing one from aust....but Ive heard rumours of cars being more expensive over there....

so you all think the turbo will be first to go? haha nice also stever whats this about the tranny cooler?? the auto doesnt like them on this model???
